Nintendo WiiU sales about to break the half million milestone.
Q: Amiibo connected figures are meeting a great success in the US and Japan. How is the situation in France ?
A: We should meet our 200000 sales goal at the end of the year. Consumers have deceived our pronostics:
we thought some references were more asked than others, but the whole set of amiibo characters is selling very well.
As a result, we're a bit short on some characters, like Kirby, Yoshi or the Wii Fit Trainer, which are currently hard to find.
A new wave of Amiibo, with 6 new characters, is coming friday, et we are comitted to renew the catalog regularly, in order to fit our catalog of new games.
Q: Another big release this year, the fighting game Super Smash Bros...
A: We're very happy of the welcome the game gets in France. The 3ds version has sold 220.000 units.
The pack including a 3DSL XL and the game, which was sold out, is back in stock this week.
For the WiiU version, we're aiming 200.000 sales at the end of the year, even if everything can speed for Christmas !
We're also delighfully surprised that the game got awards by the players, notably on the Gamekult website which crowned it game of the year.
Nintendo France a decided to jump on the occasion to lauch, this weekend, an economic pack (230 euros) with a Wii U and Super Smash Bros.
Beware, it will be a limited edition.
Q: Where are the Wii U sales now ?
A: We raised our sales previsions. Now, 490 000 Wii U have been sold in France (340000 in May) and we're aiming for 550 000 units sold for the 31th december.
The Super Smash Bros pack should help to succeed in the last line before Christmas.
Q: How are you set now compared to your concurrents ?
A: it's hard to say for now. First place for the end of the year sales should belong to the PS4, no debate. We'll have to examine the figures early 2015 to know who gets the second place between WiiU and XBox One.
Q: In september, you revealed the unexpected success of the Life simulation Tomodachi Life, the best selling game on Nintendo 3ds in the first six month of the year.
What is the situation about the game now ?
A :Tomodachi Life broke the million milestone in Europe, with 400 000 only in France. The bundle including a Nintendo 2DS, thought for kids, and the game, is nearly out of stock. There is only 10000 units remaining in the country and everything should be gone for Christmas.
Q: What are the other games that sell strong for the end of the year ?
Without discussion, Pokemon Ruby Omega and Sapphire Alpha. We sold 400 000 units in 3 weeks and we should reach between 500000 and 540000 at the end of the year.
Magical World succes has taken us by surprise. The 50000 first print copies are all sold out, new prints are planned.
It's also impossible to find New Super Mario bros 2 which was selling at 14000 copies each week. A pack including the game and a Nintendo 2ds is still available.
Finally the life simulator Animal Crossing is still doing strong, a year and a half after its release. It sells currently at 15 000 units per week.
