Topic: Wii no longer reading discs?

So yesterday I decided to play ssbb and I get this pop up message saying that there were to many message s saved on the wii and had to delete them. I made the mistake off powering down my wii when it said not to (it was taking too long and I have powered it down before when it said not to. it was fine).
Then when I turned it back on, my wii had trouble loading all software for about 20 minutes. I then played smash for a good hour with no problems. Now today, however, I went to play smash and after 10- 15 minutes the game said it could no longer read my disc. This happened again when I tried to play it a second time. Then I tried Mario party 8 and it did the same thing in 5 minutes, but this time the music stopped playing for a bit.

Has this ever happened to someone and does anyone now how to fix it? Thank you.

Edit : I just remembered that it did stop reading the disc yesterday after an hour.

It could be that your disc drive is going bad. I had to send my Wii in about 3 years ago when it stopped reading discs as well.
