Today I got a new switch. I tansfered my data, made my new switch my primary and still cant use the downloaded games my husband bought.
Under my old switch I could open and play all the digital games we bought under my husband's account. Were on the same switch online family plan as well.
So my question is, what else can I do to get those games working on my new switch.
@Rangers1 Technically, they are your husbands games. Any other user on his Switch can use his games. But, you cannot play them on your new Switch, unless his account is on it, and you download the games with his account. Digital games are tied to the account that bought them. You probably transfered your save files for his games. So you could resume those games if you bought the games, or went back to his Switch.
Your can share cartridges. But the game is only playable when inserted into the console.
Here is a page with links to Nintendo Support directions for common Switch setup questions. Several address having more than one Switch. You can also search Nintendo Support instead, if you like. It's a good resource. Nintendo's support phone line is very good too, actually. https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/nintendo-switch/game_shar...
Thank you for the links I will check them out. I did set him up on the new switch as well and download from his account. I keep getting told either can't play downloadable content or can't play at all.
@Rangers1 With primary & non-primary consoles there are at least a couple ways to set things up, and that can make things confusing. There may be a caveats to your options your because, Nintendo ecosystem want's you to buy a game for every console.
