I recently purchased a refurbished NINTENDO 3DS XL and a pre-owned Pokémon Moon cartridge. When I put the game into start, it said I needed to download the newest update, and when I did it said I needed an SD card. I got a micro one with adapted from the GameStop down the street, but it didn’t work. So, I did a Google search to see which SD cards work best, and I ordered one from Target, which should arrive by Sunday. Keeping my fingers crossed it works. I am curious to know if anyone else has had this problem. FWIW, I also got the NintenDogs and Cats game, and that works fine. So does the 3DS. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to reading any and all advice.
Your micro SD must be in FAT32 format to be properly detected.
Most micro SD cards sold nowadays are larger than 32 GB and thus use a different file system format.
