Please help!!! My switch isnt charging, when plugged in it's on that black screen with the battery icon, but there's no lightning bolt beside it. We've given it a few minutes. How do I fix this?!
EDIT: I managed to get the Nintendo logo to come on for about a second before reverting again, so uhhh... The main reason I'm so upset about this is because of ACNH, all my other games are fine because the have cloud save.

@alulunatoons Ugh, I had this problem, solved it and deleted the thread. I can’t remember the link, so I’ll tag @WoomyNNYes instead. I hope you remember the link you helped me with!

Tried take the switch from the dock and put the cable directly? I don't know if the dock have a anti- shortcircuit protection that can recover just about some hours.

I know this sounds simplistic, but try unplugging the ac adapter from both the wall and the dock for 30 seconds, the replug in.

@AlulunaToons Actually, for me the AC Adapter had unplugged from the dock. Check that, then unplug them both for 30 seconds and plug them both in.

@AlulunaToons Yeahhh Like @babyYoshi12 and other's mentioned, try reseting the AC adapter. Here are the official directions for your scenario:
https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a...

There are one or two other Switch issues that can be solved by resetting the AC adapter. Such as, switch won't display on tv.

EDIT: and like @gcunit below mentioned, if you ran your switch battery all the way down, the Switch will need a while to recharge before it will let you turn it on or play anything. It may take 20, 30+ munutes of charging. Worst case scenario, at least give it 60 minutes, if 30 minutes wasn't enough. I don't think it should need that long, just want to make sure we give charging it a good try.

@AlulunaToons You just need to be patient. It won't switch back on until it's at 5% or something. Give it 20 minutes on an official charger.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

@BabyYoshi12 If you ever make a thread and solve the issue you had, don't delete the thread. That thread could help someone in the future

If I remember correctly, most electronics these days charge very slowly in the first 10%. If the Nintendo logo popped up, then it’s charging.

I'm pretty sure the Nintendo logo only appears when it is booting the OS. Connecting to a charger when the battery is fully depleted will only produce the battery icon.
