Topic: FF VII on Game Pass

Hi. I have an Xbox and Xbox Game Pass. As of 15th of August a few games including Final Fantasy VII were supposed to be taken of Game Pass. However today (16th August) I booted up my Xbox to find that I could still play the game and that the game was still in the library. I’m not complaing I was really sad when they announced that it was being taken off as I’ve only just reached Junon, so there was no way Iwould be able to finish it. This doesn’t seem to just be FF7 either as Train World Sim has also not been delisted. I just want to know if this is a glitch on my system, a regional glitch (I live in the UK) or a widespread ‘issue’. Has anyone else downloaded FF7 and is still able to play it? As far as I know, Microsoft and/or Square has not made a statement saying that FF7 has not been taken off Game Pass, their website still says that it should have been taken off the service on 15th August. If anyone could confirm whether this is not just me that would be great. Thanks

@harrygamerstar Not appearing for me on the Game Pass mobile App anymore - either in the Leaving Soon section or the main Library, although it does still appear on the actual Xbox mobile app as a Game Pass title, although that app is sometimes a bit slower to update - I don't have access to my console at the moment so can't check there, but looks like it has left the service.

The game will still be installed on your Console even if it's left Game Pass as you can still buy them from the MS Store - it's only leaving Game Pass, not being delisted from the actual store. I haven't actually tried to play an installed game after it's left the service so don't know if you're supposed to lose access immediately or at some point that day/next day, but suspect if you try to launch it will just take you to the store page. The Game Pass Quests refresh at 6pm daily in the UK, so the library might refresh then too? Either way you might get a few extra hours, maybe a day, but you'll lose access soon I think unless you buy it.

@dmcc0 I forgot to mention in my original post I can actually go past the loading screen and get to the world map. Usually when an installed game leaves Game Pass it will just automatically take you to the Microsoft Store. My Xbox app is kinda broken at the moment so I can’t check that ( It just shows every game as Dirt 5 then boots me out of the app) I will try complete shutdown of app to see whether it still works

Update- The system seems to have sorted itself out and removed the game😔

@harrygamerstar That's one of the reasons I'm a bit hesitant to play long RPGs on Game Pass sometimes; I'm sure that as soon as I'm a few hours into a +50 hour epic it'll get announced as leaving

I haven't played, so not Idea how far in you are, but FFVII isn't that expensive on the MS store - seems to have had a couple of 50% discounts fairly recently too so worth buying if you've still got a fair bit still to go. Also only £5.99 at the moment digitally on CDKeys.
