Idk how to work this site but I need a question answered. My 1st SD card is running outta space, but a games DLC is coming out. Can I download the games DLC on a separate SD card on the Switch and still be able to play the main game? So Main Game would be on SD card #1 and DLC on SD card #2.

@JayBoo565 If you don't have the cartridge, the DLC is stored with the rest of the game, as far as I've seen. You can delete other games to free up space. When you delete a game, before you ok the task the Switch will tell you your save data is kept. You can always redownload games from eshop.

Open eshop, select your user icon in upper right, then select "Redownload" and you'll see a list of all games you've bought and deleted.

To be more accurate about the Switch, though, game save data is stored on the Switch's internal memory, while the game itself is stored on internal memory or on the SD card.

Nintendo Support regarding multiple SD cards:
"Can I use multiple microSD cards with my system?

We recommend using a single microSD card with your Nintendo Switch console. If you run out of space, you can copy over all the data to a larger microSD card.

Keep in mind that downloadable software saved to multiple microSD cards cannot be combined later into a single microSD card."

Nintendo of America has pretty good support. You can call, use chat messenger, or email, but phone & chat messenger are way quicker, if they are open (seattle work hours)

Also note, Nintendo support has good directions and answers for most things, just use their support page search bar. I make it a habit to tell people that are new here, since they usually aren't aware of how good it is. You can also plug error codes into the Nintendo Support search to see what they mean and how to resolve them, if needed.
