Topic: Can't load games using WiiFlow

So, I recently installed the homebrew channel on my Wii so that I could play games I had lost or damaged in previous years. I installed WiiFlow onto my USB drive and I downloaded an ISO for Mario Kart Wii which DID show up on the WiiFlow menu, cover and all.
However, when I tried to boot it, I was left with a WiiFlow logo screen that was frozen.
The ISO I downloaded was PAL and my console is PAL so there shouldn't have been any issues with the format. Also, before anyone recommends I change to cIOS 251, It isn't an option for me, it doesn't show up. I only have 249 and 250.

Take this to another site like GBATemp. Hacking and homebrew is forbidden here.

I dunno, but every thread asking about this sort of subject has always been locked by the mods.

@Peace-Boy Well, if the mods take it down, then I'll just appeal to have it put back up. If you don't have anything useful to say about this topic, please take your complaints elsewhere.
-Thank you

@Peace-Boy 4. Unacceptable Content
b. Do not link to illegal content; Linking to any illegal download sites, torrents or other resources that allow users to gain access to illegal content such as copyrighted ROMs, games, movies, music, TV shows, software or related activities is strictly prohibited.
c. Do not discuss current gen emulators/homebrew; It is permitted to constructively discuss the use of flash carts, emulators and homebrew software when in the context of previous generation(s) hardware. We ask that you do not link to any resources for illegal copyrighted content such as where to download ROMs and we reserve the right to lock, edit or delete any threads or comments we feel stray too far into an illegal or legal grey area.

Provided a thread doesn't break these two rules, it's completely fine to discuss homebrew.

@Peace-Boy It's a shame that you had to, this sort of stuff shouldn't be "banned". It's still Nintendo, so I don't see the issue. The fact that it's hacking doesn't matter, the Wii is at the end of its life anyway. Thanks for the heads up anyways my dude.

As long as people don’t give shady links or stuff like that it should be fine I think. There’s not many people here who will be able to help you though.

@Joeynator3000 Like Meowpheel said, as long as they don't link to shady sites (and as long as it's about ast gen hardware), it's fine.

@OneHellOfAButler I tried WiiFlow out a couple of times, and I also had some issues with it, for some reason, even though the interface is supposed to be the most versatile and user-friendly. I did like the look, but the various issues I had with it, made me replace it with another program.

Nowadays, I use Configurable USB Loader, which works like a charm and also loads GameCube backups, provided you also have Nintendont installed.

So, my advice to you would be to copy/move any save games that you have/want to preserve to an SD card, and then do a fresh softmod. Like someone else already said, GBATemp is the best forum for these kind of things, so go there or register a free account, so you can get help if something doesn't work the way it should or something goes wrong.

Look for a tutorial called "softmod any Wii" or "Wii Letterbomb", so either Google that or look for it on GBATemp, and follow that tutorial exactly as written.

Next, remove any additional USB Loaders the softmod leaves you with (If I remember correctly, the softmod also contains USB Loader GX and WiiFlow) except for Cfg USB Loader. The softmod possibly has the standard version, and the one you will need, is version 70r78, so Google "Cfg USB Loader 70r78" and download that. Search results should come up with links to GBATemp and Cfg USB Loader 70r78.11. (the eleven at the end is just the release number, so you know you have the latest version of 70r78)

Replace the original Cfg USB Loader with that version 70r78, and you should be able to start it up from either the homebrew channel or from its own loader which will appear on the Wii's home screen after the softmod and you can then download covers for your games and everything should load just fine after that.

One important thing to remember: you need a non-HC 2GB SD Card for the whole process, which you can get from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Transcend-2GB-Sd-Card-133X/dp/B00126JT9O

As a precaution, I'd take two and make a backup after you've completed the entire process.
If you have any more questions that I can answer without breaking the rules mentioned by the mods above me, I'd be happy to give you some more tips, but the guys at GBATemp are far more knowledgeable than me on the various topics, so you should be able to get all your answers there.
