We all have had moments when a video game has made us freak out, whether it was from fear, or excitement. With games like Resident Evil and Dead Space, it's kind of hard not to have one, but those aren't the only games that make us go crazy. I want to hear some of those moments from the good people hear at NintendoLife, and I'm sure that many of you do, too. So lets gather 'round the campfire once again, and share some stories about our video game freak-out moments!
When I was ten, my best friend had just received Ocarina of Time for the N64 as a gift, and he wanted me to play it for him. We sat there for hours going through the game, and everything was good. That is, everything except for the fact that we were scared to death by re-deads. I had fought my way through the game while collecting Gold Skulltellas and buying the not so popularcatching onall the rage legendary magic beans until it was finally time to go through two very special places. 1. The Bottom of the Well, and 2. The Shadow Temple. I don't remember much from our experience in that well, but the Shadow Temple was another story. After fighting my way through many of the rooms, both of us whimpering from fear along the way, we came to that one room that had two re-deads, four spike patches, and required the use of the longshot. Upon entering the room, we just sat there staring at the screen. Neither of us wanted anything to do with the re-deads, but we knew that we had to get near them to kill them. Due to being so freaked out, we both forgot about the Sun Song, and our thoughts were "kill 'em quick!", so I charged in, and the second I got in range, I forgot how to attack. The re-dead turned around, hopped on Link, and made "Wuuum! Wuuuum! Wuuum!" noises, much to our distress. We both screamed, freaked-out, and jumped behind his couch, shivering with fear while waiting for it to be over. Link had two fairies. The "augh!"s from Link and the "Wuuum!"s from the re-dead continued forever; so did our screaming, which we tried to use to blot out the noises. Too bad we had turned the volume on the TV to just below full blast. After what seemed like thirty minutes, we looked up to see the game over screen, and his mom looking at us like we were whimps (which we were). I had never felt so relieved. We tried again in two weeks, and won.
My first 100 level Pokemon, KYOGER! And the legend of Zelda phantom hourglass during the whole game (my dad hated it because i played it SO much)! Oh the excitement!

Umm, there was this Mickey Mouse circus game (on SNES) I had waaay back. I kinda remember this one part in some haunted house (I think) that had a painting of that big guy what's-his-name. Anyway, it came to life and scared the ever lovin' crap outta me. I remember calling my dad in there in with me so I wouldn't be as scared
btw, I'm sure there have been threads like this before... ah well

1. I think I know that game. Could you play as Donald Duck, too? 2. Do you mean a "your favorite video game moments" thread, or a "video game freak-out" thread? Oh well, you're probably right. I'm not going to use that "I didn't find it in the search!" excuse, because, while I did search for it, I didn't look very hard.

Oh, I know what game you're talking about! I used to play it with my sister as Minnie all the time! It took us forever to beat that painting boss. And no you can't play as Donald in that game. The fun was in the co-op multiplayer, in which you played as Mickey and Minnie, and they could changed costumes to give themselves different abilities. Ah, good times...
Back in the days of Mario 64 I was only 6-ish and would play the game with my mom. I could never play the water painting (in the room with the aquarium) because I was petrified of that giant eel that swam around under the water. I think that actually scarred me for life because I recently got Monster Hunter 3 and was absolutely terrified in that mission hunting for monster guts and then that giant Lagiacrus came swimming in and tried to attack. I quickly turned to the previous area. After like a minute I heard the music that means that Lagiacrus is in my area. I didn't see him.....but then I tuned around and he was RIGHT THERE freakin INCHES from me and as soon as I saw him he roared load in my face. I almost turned the game off right then and there but I buckled down and did the mission, heart racing the whole time. I think my fear of underwater serpent-like creatures is because I feel so helpless trying to maneuver under water in almost any game. BTW, I'm still afraid to go swimming in area 10 and 11 in Monster Hunter because I'm afraid I might see the Lagiacrus again. Can anyone confirm I won't be running into that things again until the end of the game?

I remember when I was little I visited a cousin's house and he was playing Mario 64. He had the volume turned up really loud and when he walked up to a locked door and Bowser's laugh played, I ran downstairs and refused to go back up. I was petrified.
Maybe that was my freak out moment.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
I bought Zelda II as one of my first games for the NES, and every time I went into the first palace and encountered an Ironknuckle, I got so shaky I had to run away and leave the palace. I never made it anywhere in that game till I played it like 15 years later.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
