I have noticed many gamers have strange habits when it comes to games. For example when I'm playing a racing game like Mario Kart I tend to lean when I make turns as if I'm really racing.
I do that too! Another thing I tend to do is get really mad (And cry most of the time) when someone is beating me or I can't beat something on a game. lol I wouldn't really call that a habit but...
One example: you might know the RTS "Warhammer: Dawn of War" and its expansion packs. The first included the Imperial Guard. The concept, look and feel of that new faction felt awesome to me and they became my favortie party out of seven to choose from (now they are even nine !) The problem was, that they got patched to death and became the most weakest race in the whole game. You were still be able to win, but it took much more efford, skill and concentraion then with the Space Marines for example. But I always stayed at them.
In "The Elder Scrolls" games I always pick the Argonians because I think they are awesome and RPGs in general lack of cool reptile race to place as. I know they dont have any truely outstanding powers like some of the other races - but I simply dont care.
Other example could be that I often refused to evolve some Pokemon because I didnt like their new form
PS: if a game is REALY immersive, but still "abstract" in its visuals or gameplay - like turn based games - I tend to let my imagination happen and fill up the "gaps" - It is hard to descripe,
When playing games that have items laying around, I always try to grab them all, and I just can't go on until I find the way to do so, I even struggle to grab recovery items that I don't need.
"And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor, Shall be lifted nevermore!"
"I'll just have to STOP. TIME!" - Twilight Sparkle
I also tend in single player FPS to use "super weapons" as rarely as possible to save their the ammo because "I might need it later". In the end I keep using the assault rifle / pumpgun all the time.
Cursing, and just sort of talking even when I'm the only one playing. I'm good at voices, so I have this thing I do when I play Zelda games (because there's no voice acting) where I make embarrasing voices for all the characters. Midna sounds like Barney from the Simpsons.

Also, when I defeat a particularly challenging character in Punch-Out, I do a lap around the house. I only do that when there's friends around though (to be annoying). If I'm by myself I just usually do a little victory dance. It looks like Thom Yorke dancing to 15 Step at the Grammies (I'm sure at least 2 people here know what I'm talking about)
