Link's Awakening. Completely action orientated with the bare minimum of story but enough to make you interested in whats going on. Sure I could cross the map from one end to the other in three minutes or so but that only meant all pointless running around was removed.
Twilight Princess went dull too many times for me that it killed my enjoyment for it. Going into the sewers and sniffing out bugs in the village... playing a game where most of the screen is almost completely dark is not my idea of fun. Even if its just for a short time.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
Yes. I can't recommend it enough. Its what Zelda games should be like. No gimmicks or anything; just pure adventuring - find the right item to get to the next dungeon, beat the dungeon and repeat. There's only one side quest (item trading) which is optional (a good thing) and only serves to make the end boss easier. Quite possibly the last true Zelda game created before the series went into a different gimmick each game.

Really I found it one of most annoying to wander around, the world's structure seemed annoying as a whole. The pacing didn't feel great either, and it'd drag near the middle and end.
Phantom Hourglass is my favourite portable Zelda, the pace felt great, the only problem I had was the fourth trip into the Temple of the Ocean King since not much had changed since the previous one. Sure the game was incredibly easy, but everything was exectuted phenomenally (like those bosses, lots were great despite the lack of danger).
Ocarina of Time is my favourite Zelda, I love most everything about it.
It`s a tie between OoT, MM, or TP. But I`ll go on the record by saying Majora`s Mask is probably the most depressing and creepiest of all the zelda games.

Well, if it has a good lots of action, good puzzles, a big overworld, and lots of items, i'll love it!
My favorite Zelda is my cat Zelda followed by Zelda Rubenstein.
I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.
My favorite Zelda is probably Ocarina of Time, but Majora's Mask comes close. I have downloaded ALttP, but haven't gotten around to playing it for more than about half an hour, so I don't think I can make a judgement about it yet. As for handheld Zeldas, Phantom Hourglass is my favorite, but I've only played that and Spirit Tracks. I hope to be able to get Link's Awakening sometime soon, but I am yet to find a copy of it.
spirit tracks was awesome. way too short, though, if you ask me. does anyone think that spirit tracks was "crammed to the gills with sidequests" or whatever nintendo/other people called it?
Go make some new disaster That's what I'm counting on... You're someone else's problem Now I only want you gone Now I only want you gone...
