Topic: What Video Game-based Religion Are You a Member Of?

I hadn't even HEARD of the Turbografix back then...I'm not sure I heard of the thing before it hit VC, actually. I might have, but I don't properly recall.

Weird. I wonder why he keeps himself out of the spotlight, but Reggie can't seem to stay away... It's the same with Sony, isn't it? Jack Tretton and...who for Europe?

I currently worsip the green pipe. Sometimes I just stand by it and look, Somtimes I jump up on it and run around the rim, Sometimes I run really fast but at the last moment turn around and slide right into it, and sometimes I jump all the way over it...... oh and this one time I jumped Into the Pipe and went down it like a real plumber does...... But it was dark inside, and led me to a creepy mansion full of ghost and all I had was my flashlight that barely works. Now I just like to look at the pipe and sometime rub it a little. Its a cool pipe that is for sure.

I almost started laughing when I read this thread's topic.

I think Americans just like to hog the spotlight in the first place, generally speaking. Just a cultural thing, I guess. I would argue the point of Europe being thought of last by Nintendo nowadays, though. I honestly think you guys have it better than we do now. Stupid NoA going down the toilet...

Im with you Stuffy... I dont like Reggie at all and the current direction he has Nintendo on is really not impressing me, especially wich the last info we got on the new Nintendo console not being full HD. Looks like he is going to continue keeping Nintendo one step behind the rest wich is just crazy. Way to make sure hardcore gamers continue flooding away from Nintendo. Go ahead Reggie...... give yourself a pat on the back for selling more shovelware than ever recorded in history, its quite an achievment you got there.

@slapshot82: As much as I dislike Reggie, I have to agree with Machu: Reggie is NOT the boss of Nintendo overall, and is NOT responsible for the HD-ness or lack thereof of ANY Nintendo console, ever. As the figurehead of NoA, we CAN use him as a convienient scapegoat for the lack of NPC Pikmin 2, Trace Memory 2, SSB64, etc. being released in NA, though. I know it's not really 100% his decision either, but what does he expect when he's the top pubilcly visible NoA dude?

This is my thing with Reggie, he doesn't respect other companies. He has several times now been in the public eyes with very outforward remarks towards Sony. I respect all companies as a gamer, not just one. Reggie has the attitude that he could care less about any other companies like Nintendo is a untouchable company. Im sorry, a public figurehead should be above making remarks such as his last one where he could care less about Sonys product. He should care, its his competition. Everyone knows you should respect your competition. That is good buisness, and his attitude has really turned my head away from Nintendo at the moment. Why should he be respected when it doesn't show it himself.

@slapshot: Yeah, that...plus I refuse to respect a jerk who tends to come off as very disrespectful of his core audience. Jack Tretton doesn't have the former problem (in a recent interview, he had some good things to say about the competition...though he likes Playstation best, of course), but he also suffers the latter, which seems odd considering Sony has MUCH less of a casual base than Nintendo. I guess I'm really referring to the refusal to talk about the BC issue. That really burns me, because he's had a TON of chances to mention it, but he always chooses to gloss right over it like it didn't even exist, and that is NOT cool with me!

@Stuffgamer1...... Overall though Tretton is very good at his job, but I do agree with the BC issue. Reggie is a jerk...... heck even Miyamoto went over to check out the PSP Go at E3 and Reggie just talks trash about it. You know Sony does have a pretty big casual following but its not a center point for the company with games like Buzz, Singstar, Eye Pet, etc. Those games have sold very well for Sony. Nintendo literally dropped their core audience for the casual market.

Come now...we weren't COMPLETELY dropped. We've still got awesome games like Metroid Prime, Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy, NSMBW, and Punch-Out!! It's the downloadable gaming fans Nintendo has REALLY let down...not that they were ever all THAT great at it, but they were better two years ago than they are now, IMO (spoken like a true VC fan ).
