Topic: What Game(s) are You Currently Playing?

I've been playing Mina the Hollower, because despite being terrible at playing brand new games, I've been very consistent about doing so for Yacht Club games after they gave me 5 years of free DLC for Shovel Knight. Also because its GOTY contender or whatever.

It is very good so far, but I am so very quickly seeing the early part of the game of "where can I go and where do I have any chance at succeeding this early in the game?" that I heard about. I'm assuming its not west based on my most recent deaths, because that's an insane amount of stuff to deal with at once for the first thing after the first major area/s.

@Sunsy Yeah, that's a feature with the game itself. A lot of the races take place on routes that take you to any given course, while you'd still use items along the way. I don't mind them personally. Oh nice! Rainbow Road is such a good track, isn't it? I wanted to save my first time playing on it for when I first unlocked the Special Cup, haha.

I really like how you can use your old Switch controllers with the Switch 2, as well... the only downside is that you can't wake up the console from sleep mode with them.

Not sure what to play next. Finished Metroid Prime 4 and really enjoyed it. Really wish MP2 and 3 were on GameCube NSO

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined
Today I prevented a volcano eruption, and freed the souls of petrified villagers. Rest in peace. Everyone is level 13 and I found 9 minimedals.

Played some Mario Kart World this afternoon with @D-Star92. Fun times racing today, thanks D-Star!

@Nep-Nep-Freak Cool, I haven't tried the new Joy Cons outside of using it in handheld mode. I do like the way my pro controller feels, and I like I can use it playing games, even Switch 2 games. At least it works with Mario Kart and the Star Fox demo.

@D-Star92 Oh ok, it seems like you're driving to the next course, like when we traveled to Koopa Troopa Beach today (which looks like a Koopa Beach 2 remake). Cool, I just happened to play it online. I still got two more cups to play in grand prix mode.

Thanks it was fun. Yeah, I figured that out when I tried pressing the home button and thought "why isn't this going on?" Then I just got up and pressed the power button. I don't think that's a problem on the Switch 2 pro controller, which I don't have.

@kkslider5552000 I ended up going east to Queensbury Crypt for my first area. It took me a little while to find how to get there, but I think I can safely recommend it as a good first area to go to.

I played some Disney Dreamlight Valley last night. There's a Disney Parks event going on now, and I did part of that event's weekly quest. I'll try to wrap it up next time I play. And yes, I also played Mario Kart World online with Sunsy today. It was fun! I found a Peach Medallion earlier, as well.

@Sunsy You're welcome! I'm glad we both had a good time. Yep that's right, it is indeed Koopa Beach 2, albeit backwards that time, haha. (I wish they had Koopa Troopa Beach from Mario Kart 64 instead though.) Best of luck on finishing those cups... there's also Knockout Tour, which I also really like.

Yes you're right, I have a Switch 2 pro controller (as expensive as it is, it's also a really good controller) and I can wake up the console with that. Same with its own joy-cons.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined
The animal village was funny. A new team member joined us. Now I am helping people to defend themselves from robots.

I have cleared up my backlog, and got the platinum for 007 First Light on PS5. I’m waiting for Adventures of Elliot to release (hopefully the reviews are good), so in the meantime, I’m craving an RPG, so I decided to start up The Witcher 3 on the Switch 2. My god, it is still so good, and runs incredibly well. I originally played the game on the PS4, but with the recent announcement of another expansion (are you kidding me?) I got in the mood to replay it. It’s still an exceptional, top tier experience. And even after all of this time, I STILL don’t understand how to play Gwent.

Got the Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack, so played that today. Tried out the pack by playing Donpa Grand Prix as Amy. Did some time trials on Rainbow Garden as Arle, because the music to that track is awesome (no really, give Rainbow Garden Final Lap a listen). Played through Egg Grand Prix, thus beating the game, and did Secret Grand Prix afterwards.

Don't have any of the DLCs, so I played the base game.

@D-Star92 It's like Koopa Beach 2, with an added detail to the island, instead of being flat sand. Racing under that rock. Thanks, and noted on Knockout Tour and the Switch 2 Pro Controller.

Felt like coming back to Splatoon 3 and played a few Turf War matches. I didn't do too bad myself. I haven't played in a year and I did see that they're having a Big Big Run event pretty soon... I should probably practice in Salmon Run and see how badly I do in the process, haha.

@Sunsy Nice job on finishing Sonic Racing CrossWorlds. No problem, Mario Kart World's Knockout Tour might just be my favorite part of the game! It's basically one massive track, and you'd do your best to not get ranked out before each checkpoint. (It's much like F-Zero in that regard.) Getting 3-star ranks in each rally is really difficult too, lol.
