Been playing Batman: Arkham City on Xbox Series, from the Return to Arkham Collection. Arkham Asylum on PS3 was one of my all-time favourite games back in the day, and I can't believe it's taken me so long to play the follow-up. I think I slightly prefer the more linear Asylum to City's open world, but still a great game that holds up really well, especially the combat.
Been playing more Sonic Rumble on PC, ok I'm loving this game. Earned enough red rings to unlock Amy in her Sonic Riders outfit. Which is cool because I earned the red rings from playing the game to unlock her, usually the required red rings cost $5 (yes, this is one of those free-to-play games). Nice to see a nod to one of my favorite GameCube and Sonic games. Also, I'm ranking pretty high, got top 3 several times already.
@Sunsy I assumed Sonic Rumble was mobile only. I played one time and amusingly got first place even though I didn't know what I was doing, but the controls on mobile are not good. I kind of wish it was on Switch. It feels like simpler Fall Guys but I enjoy Fall Guys on Switch.
@FishyS That's higher than me, I came in 2nd. It plays great with a controller, I'm using my gamepad to play this one, though it can be played with a keyboard and a mouse too. The game is similar to Fall Guys, though I haven't played that. I've seen gameplay videos of it, and it immediately came to mind while I was playing Sonic Rumble.
Now I'm reminded, didn't Fall Guys have a Sonic crossover at some point too?

Fall Guys has had a zillion crossovers - everything from Portal and Halo to Gris and Untitled Goose Game to Doctor Who. The game went skin overboard when Epic Games bought them. I always just ignore the skins since all that matters is that you are different enough from the other characters to recognize yourself in the mob. I think I'll play some Fall Guys; I hadn't for a few months.
More Sonic Rumble, this time, an event mode called "Vs Biolizard" appeared, so played a few rounds of it. It was like a big co-op boss battle and was incredibly fun. Different than the usual normal mode. Free-to-play, but I'm loving this.
@D-Star92 Looks like I remembered correctly. The new Sonic game on PC and mobile is like Fall Guys, and got reminded they did a crossover with Sonic.

Mario Kart World - Played some more of the Free Roam mode tonight. I found one more P-Switch mission and about three Peach Medallions. I haven't been finding any of those in my more recent sessions before this one, so I'm happy I found them. On a side note, I'm enjoying the remixed Mario music they made for this game.
I've also been on a roll with finishing quite a few games recently too, which I talked about in the "Games You Recently Beat" thread. I'm thinking of continuing Disney Illusion Island this weekend, and I'm wanting to replay Super Mario Odyssey as well... this time on my Switch 2. If I recall correctly, it got a resolution upgrade, like what happened with Splatoon 3.
@Sunsy You sure did. Glad you're enjoying Sonic Rumble by the way. I might try it out at some point, though I don't often play free-to-play games. Does it play similarly to the newer Sonic games?

I've been playing Hat in Time. Early impressions are its exactly as vaguely almost jank as Yooka Laylee but with more cool and fun things that actually happen in the game. Unquestionably feels more creative and unique. It's really hard not to compare them and Hat in Time does win out, I do realize its too late to care how underwhelming original Yooka Laylee was now but I'm also playing Hat in Time way too late too so...oh well.
The mystery train level was as cool as I had heard.
OK, this weekend I played more of Disney Illusion Island and I'm enjoying it. I made quite a bit of progress in it and I made it to the snow area. This will be the game I'll mainly focus on this time. I even went ahead and had some classic Mickey Mouse cartoons playing in the background!

Loving the brutal difficulty and addictive hook. It's much easier on the eyes compared to the older SNES version due to not having those eye blundering parallax scroll effect backgrounds. This NES version is brand new by the way, and released along side the JP & TLD Collection back in 2022.
The Charge shot creates a different flow to the game too, since you can't run while holding the charge like in Mega Man. So you're basically hopping around like a grass hopper until you decide to release your charge shot. It's almost giving me mild Journey to Silious vibes too, but in a goofier fashion. It's fun, nothing spectacular or anything but definitely worth the plunge if you can snag it Digitally for cheap.
Disney Illusion Island - Still plugging away at that game, got some more collectibles from exploring and finished a boss fight. I think I'm almost done with it.
(Spoilers ahead.)
So, after getting the third book and returning all three of them to the library, everything is fine and dandy. But then... oh, no! We were helping the villains the entire time! Now we have to set things right before it's too late. I like how Mickey and friends looked like the Disney villains for a brief moment, lol.

@D-Star92 Sonic Rumble plays similar to Fall Guys, it's more of a party-like game than a traditional Sonic one. You have three rounds, and 32 players, players get eliminated after each round. First round is a race, second is usually a random task, third is collect the most rings.
Sometimes there may be a special mode like fighting Biolizard with all players as a team, or a squad mode.
It's on PC and mobile. Playing on PC. Tried mobile, but my finger slipping off the "joystick" due to touch screen just feeling the same. Works great with my PC gamepad.

@Sunsy All right gotcha. So that elimination thing is sort of like how F-Zero plays, as well as Mario Kart World's Knockout Tour. I did see it's on Steam, but I kind of wish it was on Switch since I mainly play on that.

@D-Star92 Pretty much, more like F-Zero 99 as in there's a bunch of players still remaining by the final round. I wish it came to Switch and other consoles, honestly, it's a really fun game that deserves more players (it has cross-play, so the player pool is pretty full).
Cyberpunk 2077 on the Switch 2. I did a quest last night that celebrates Jackie Welles, and it had some of the best writing I’ve ever seen in a game. That whole quest was emotional, and fleshed out numerous characters.
