I havent seen it yet but I have heard that. I heard that the movie was pretty much the last episode of the first season. Its a same too I just finished watching the entire tv series from Netfix streaming and I was sooooo stoked about the movie than I heard the reviews.

It was painful to watch. With such memorable moments such as: (note: slight exagerations) Princess Yue:"We have to make them believe we believe the believers believe something about believing and a blah blah blah..." So-ka:"What?!" Uvatar Ung:"This isn't anything like the show on Nickelodeon..." And... Katara:"NO, Momo!" Ung:"Wait, since when were we calling the monkey 'Momo'?" So-ka:"Oh, since forever!" And of course, the pebble dance!!!
They took out many things. Too many things. Characters like Suki, Bumi, and Jet. They didn't mention key places in the show like Omashu at all, the actors took their respective characters and ruined them all, and they messed up the story. AANG did not have trouble with Waterbending in the TV show, but UNG had trouble with it in the movie. They made all the towns they saved into a stinking montage, and since when do firebenders need a source of fire to bend? And the fighting. Why was everything so slow? In the show it was action packed and exciting. In the movie they did 1000 different movements to make a puddle splash someone in the face. The battles were also too short in the movie and in my opinion not the least bit entertaining, and the ending is seriously flawed. Where was the Ocean Spirit at the end? In the show, the Ocean Spirit killed Zhao, by smashing him into a river with his fists. In the movie, not only was the Ocean Spirit taken out, but the way they killed Zhao was four waterbenders picking him up in water and dropping him. And all those fire nation ships just go away after "Ung" makes a tidal wave that hit absolutely nothing? Psh.
Being the fan of the show I am, I was thoroughly disappointed. It makes me sad that they are making the other 2 books into movies as well. M. Night Shymalan is gonna have a tough time explaining all the things that were supposed to be explained in the first book.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
I loved the show, but I'm scared to see the movie after what I've heard about it. I still kind of want to see it just because I liked the show so much, even though I'm almost sure I'll hate this. Maybe when it's On Demand. @PhoenixFarron HOW DARE YOU?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Final Fantasy is the worst series EVER!!!!!!
Just kidding, I've never actually played it, that's just unfair of me
Most anime has an animated movie or more than one. This what they need to do end Avatar. Maybe one or two animated movies. The series was gold and shouldn't be messed with these stupid live-action movies. Maybe something about them rebuilding the nation or maybe a new movie-exclusive villian?

Sounds like...... Inception. Oh ho ho. That's a knee slapper!
Funny you should mention that. I played DiCaprio's crazy wife in that movie.

I saw Inception on opening night... and when a preview about an elevator movie played and at the end read: A M. Night Shyamalan Film, everyone in the theatre laughed as if it were a comedy movie trailer.
I've never seen the cartoon, but the movie did look like it could be pretty good. When you watch a movie based on something else, you just have to forget what it's based on. There's seriously no way they could fit that much into a single movie. I still want to see it.
It had very wooden acting, and was completely unrealistic. I remember hearing the phrase "Why are you acting this way?" in the movie, and I said aloud, "I could be asking you the same question."
