A decade of movies.

You know, I won a contest and got in by it, but you need to have talent.
Voiceacting isn't just using your voice. Its acting.
I know someone who spend over 900 euro's to get a voice actor course and didn't get any job. I didn't spend a dime, but by luck, I got a way in. So please watch out with any course that you will do. In the Netherlands you also have a course that might give you some guaranty if you are good. But that world is also full of people who are in a bubble. So if you are not in their group, you might not get the notion that you need. Never give up on your dreams! Try to see how you can get in by a good demo. Be professional, not a fan (don't spam those people) but show them that what you got. Why do they need to have YOU? They might have some other people, why do you need to join the team? What's your flavour that you can add.

I myself, am now a part of a studio who trusts me and by doing well, I even got the oppertunity to cast some people as a director for the movie haha. I didn't do any Disney animated features (even though, I got a role in a future Disney+ serie called Nemesis as a policeman. Not a animation, but real life stuff. But that's not a voice part.)

Good luck with finding a spot in the animationdepartment! Its a limited world.

@JadeKitsune When I did the Pirates! in 2012 I also had the diagnose of autism. So I believe that you should not always be hindered by that.

I want to tell another story: about a director who called me a stalker. She directed the Pirates. Marty de Bruijn.

When I had a voiceover coaching with someone in Los Angeles , he called her. One of the first things she had said (according to my teacher) "Don't talk with him he is a stalker!!" she was apperently very very mad. Again, haven't seen her in 10 years. And only a good stalker might know what I am doing in that time.

Just know that 7 years after the Pirates, another studio asked me if I was available for a dubbing project (didn't know what it would be). We did that and after 3 years of the release of the movie the asked me for ANOTHER movie! that was around 2022. they were so pleased that they asked me to do the casting for people as well.

I was in the run for the SM movie, but the person that I was talking with said that there was not perfect role to fit me.
