@Fizza That’s odd, I have a chrombook as well, tho I don’t think I have posted a photo that was a screenshot.

Is it another type of file? Maybe it needs to be a specific file type?

@Snatcher When a screen capture is saved, it shows up as like 'Screenshot - (date) - (time taken) .jpg'. Maybe it's not possible to have it show up because it's a specific file name to your device? If there's any tech-savvy people here reading this, please let me know if I'm on the right wavelength.

Yeah, there's a few little connections between the 3 Fates & Awakening, @BabyYoda71 .... Not really major spoilers, either way but particularly not for playing Fates 1st!

@Fizza I think so, well at leas that’s what happens to me whenever I name. File, I can’t use it, but that doesn’t sound to be the issue, I will have to test it.

So I decided to replay super paper Mario, and this game is way shorter than I remember. I knew it was one of the shorter games in the series, but I have been able to wrap up chapter two after 2:30 hours of play time. To be fair, accounting for 8 chapters, that would be like 10 hours but for a series full of 20 plus hour games, it is kinda short.

Still one of my favorite games, but just an observation I have. And to be fair I was able to skip most of 1-3 and 2-3 just by my memory Of the game.

@Fizza Uh, try (img) (/img) using a direct link. But I think I need to know more of what you're trying to do first... (I have a Chromebook too btw)

@Kermit1
I know it was my introduction to the paper Mario series. Also was the only classic paper Mario game I had played up until a month ago. Now I have played every game but super has a soft spot for me.

@blindsquarel I also have a soft spot for it, since my mom played it for me technically. The 3D was hard for my brain to handle.

@blindsquarel
Super Paper Mario Wii was scary from what I have ever watched from YouTube. The World of Nothing, the Twygz River, creepy spider legged creatures, etc.
Sticker Star 3DS was my first Paper Mario game I have played since late 2013 and I like the using of 3D things like Final Fantasy Summon.

@Anti-Matter
It’s not really that scary. The knock off river a stix or Mimi in her spider form are probably the worst I can think of. Even so, they aren’t scary for anyone above the age of maybe 10. Plus in the underwhere, the music is so good, it doesn’t even matter. It is the most different paper Mario game though. But it is still amazing.

Also, sticker Star is a great game. Sue me ( not directed at you, it is just a very unpopular opinion to have)

Briefly on the Super Paper Mario discussion: I love that game. The music, many of the unique characters, the decent plot (for a Mario-related title)....It's a beautiful package. Though not a perfect one.

@Kermit1 I'd love to see a Layton collection of the first six games, as well as the Yo-Kai Watch titles that haven't made it out of Japan. CoughYW4Cough

@Snatcher It's a very good series if you're into puzzles, decent VGM, and the (mostly) English setting. The first three games have no continuity whatsoever, whereas the prequel trilogy (games 4-6) does have some continuity, but it's loose. Last Specter/Spectre's call is the most removed from the other two right now, by my reckoning. Timeline-wise, it's the first game in the series. It won't hurt to jump in just anywhere. However, Azran Legacy is pretty expensive physical since it didn't have a long print run in North America. I had to opt for digital.

@BruceCM I highly encourage you to play them, if puzzle games and dapper English gentlemen are your cup of tea.

@Tasuki Glad everything went well! Ah, internet issues; they're sometimes a given, but it sounds like you worked through them!

@BabyYoda71 As mentioned, there are a few small connections between the worlds of Fates and Awakening, but those are mainly explored through DLC. Outside of that, the Fates games are mostly stuck in their own continuity. If you're new to the series, I do recommend starting with Birthright out of the Fates bunch since it's the easiest. Revelation is best experienced last out of the three main paths.

I also highly recommend Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia on 3DS. It's an odd one compared to other FE titles - it includes dungeon crawling and a few other differences - but most of its quirks are to its credit. It's a full remake of the original Fire Emblem Gaiden on the Famicom and is tied directly to the same universe as Awakening.

@Tyranexx Emmy, huh? That's cool. I'd love to get more into Professor Layton, to be honest, I love the premise of solving puzzles to advance the story. However, I wasn't very good at playing it. I have Professor Layton and the Curious Village, and I was only able to beat the first few puzzles - I didn't want to use too much hint coins either.

On the subject of profile pics, I took a screenshot of Mario getting 1st in Paris Promenade, I was thinking of using that as my Nintendo Life profile pic at some point. It's now part of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's DLC and it's honestly one of my favorite courses in it. Love the whole Paris theme and the twist they made for the final lap.

Yeah, I remember seeing Drill Dozer in a Nintendo Power magazine, but just didn't get it until much, much later - this year, in fact. Honestly, the music in that game is making me want to play Pokemon Omega Ruby, lol! Had a ton of memories with the GBA as a whole, it was the first handheld that I truly dug. Agreed on the original manuals.

@Sunsy Yeah, I've always liked how those tracks looked too, how they scaled and rotated as you're racing through them. It was especially impressive in the first F-Zero, we've never seen a racing game that does that with its courses while we'd go at supersonic speeds.

That sports game you're thinking of is Mario Sports Superstars. (Not to be confused with Mario Party Superstars, of course.) I never got that one, from what I've heard, it's average at best. I've seen Scott The Woz do a video of him taking out a bunch of those amiibo cards, that's on his Scott's Stash channel.

Nice - I literally have that same SA2 CD. It's a decent soundtrack CD for sure. I think I have that Smashing Live CD somewhere, but I'm not sure where that ended up.

@Eel Happy early birthday! Funnily enough, I'm wearing Pac-Man PJ pants as of this post. lol

So is switch sports worth getting if it is just a game I play for an hour while deciding what the next game I start is. It sounds interesting but I am not sure there is enough content.

Well, I don't tend to get on with games that have that as the main genre, @Tyranexx .... Particularly not 'hidden object' ones! Maybe you can give me an idea of the puzzles in them? If they're more like the sorts of things found in other point & click adventures, I might like them, although I'd only be considering any on Switch

@blindsquarel
NDS, Wii, 3DS, Wii U, XBOX 360, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch have some Wii Sports like games from what I knew such as Deca Sports games, Kinect Sports games, Big League Sports by Activision, Instant Sports, Sports Champions on PS3, etc. Olympic Games by SEGA are better compilation as the games have at least more than 12 different sports. Olympic Tokyo 2020 games have Boxing on it.
Have you ever played any of them ?
