@Tasuki That’s what was going through my mind when I read it, it was just selfish.

@Tyranexx I have exchanged phone calls, emails, zoom meeting with the clean up company and in the end the won't budge. They want their money and legally they can put a lean on the property and get their money that way.

My only saving grace right now is seeing if I can get a loan from a bank pay off the cleanup company that way and once the money from insurance is unfrozen pay off the loan. Like I said I have the money it's just frozen.

@Snatcher Right, as I said I can understand thinking about your own death is scary but as the saying goes two things in life that are inevitable death and taxes. I have a son and if I owned property I would have got a will just to make sure he was taken care of when I am gone. In fact if I get through this I will be doing that.

@Tasuki The fear is perfectly understandable, what’s not understandable is how someone could think screwing over there own kid when they die is somehow better then not thinking about it? Like it’s going to happen, so make sure they have a good life when your gone, but noooo, I rather them suffer because I didn’t want to think about it for a bit right before I get back to my old life. It’s going to happen anyway, glad your not going to go down her same path.

You would think that would give you peace, knowing your kid is going to be fine, guess not to her.

@MarioLover92 Interesting, it feels the other way around for me. The only place I've seen a Mac in more recent years was a local church in the town I use to live in. Before then, it was in every school in the 90's, some of which had older Apple II systems. I think middle school was when I first used a Windows machine, as well as the Internet.

Because my family had a Mac, I do have some strong nostalgia for the old System 7 and MacOS 8 days. Though the only Mac games I rebought was Star Wars Rebel Assault II and Sim City 2000, albiet the DOS versions from GOG. Still the same great games.

@Anti-Matter If you don't want to play it then, then don't play it I guess. Just giving some thoughts based on experience I had playing the game. I see them similar to the ghost house courses in Mario Kart, even if it's not as "cartoony" for lack of a better word.

@MarioLover92 For all the talk about how climate change is gonna burn us all alive tomorrow... the weather's just getting stranger every year. It's still snowing?! I tell you, both sides are lying!

@Tasuki Sorry to hear about that, it sounds like it's gonna be a rough few weeks. The fear of death is a powerful thing. Hopefully she gets over it. Memento mori and all.

@Tyranexx Pleasantly surprised? That's it?! It was simply unbelievable! The powers that be have smiled upon us to grant us this absolute divine gift. In all seriousness this is a fantastic thing; since I'll have a third of the summer break to play it instead of... no time. The new additions to combat make it look really deep, though it seems they're taking the 2 approach for Arts.

Having eight different party members at the same time (and being able to switch between them all) was surprising though, because of the Switch. Have Monolith managed to completely figure it out, and unlock all of its power (pun intended)? It looks great too, even though it's on the same hardware as 2, and that game, frankly, looked awful.

Unfortunately I'm gonna be spoiled for choice this year. The new F1 game's getting revealed in about ten hours or so, and that usually comes out in July-ish. I'm probably going to have to hold off buying games until then in that case, since there's LIVE A LIVE, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, and at least three or four more. RPGs are a poisoned chalice, honestly. They're so good, yet... so darn long.

I just had the most bonkers dream for a new game that I feel as if I have to write down so I don't forget it.

It was an idea for a new Pokemon Legends game called Pokemon Legends Kaohki. It's set in either the past or future of the Alola region, with your character being shipwrecked by an unknown force, causing you to be trapped on the islands. You'll join the Island Protection Agency who have been documenting the rampages of Pokemon powered up by Z energy. The game, unlike the previous Legends game, would be a top down tactics/tower defense game where you'll have hoards of maddened Pokemon trying to take down different towns around the islands. There would also be 3D explorable segments around the towns you're defending (kind of like FE 3 Houses) and you could still explore the islands fully in order to gather supplies, get sidequests and, of course, catch Pokemon to then use during the defense phase. The game releases on October 10th, 2025.

I don't know why this is what I was thinking but oh my god it actually sounds interesting. HOW DID I THINK UP SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN MY SLEEP.

@Sunsy Those tracks from the racing games made me think House of the Dead was on the really tame side of horror like Luigi's Mansion and Castlevania (that's as far as I go regarding horror). The ads on Nintendo Life for the remake made me realize that's not the case, while it is way outside what I'd want to play and I'm glad the ads are gone it's still nice that SEGA decided to care about something that isn't Genesis/Mega Drive for once.

Outside of being more violent and bloody, House of the Dead is usually in fact, on the tamer side of horror. They're light gun games, they're obviously not scary.

@Grumblevolcano @kkslider5552000 Yeah, I never felt scared or horrified from playing House of the Dead. As mentioned before, it's kind of like a bad horror movie with bad acting. Honestly, I think that's the charm of it too.

Good example, in House of the Dead 2, you have a guy screaming "help me" in fear, you shoot the monster, then he calmly says "my friends went inside, they're not back yet" as if nothing bad happened, lol.

Yeah, House of the Dead does indeed have blood in it. IIRC, red blood had to be unlocked, it's green by default. Sonic & All-Stars Racing is a celebration of all things Sega, so to keep it within an E10+ rating, they had to tone things down obviously. The only similarity is Bayonetta in Smash. Bayonetta is obviously M-rated, but Smash isn't, so they had to tone it down to stay within the rating. Obviously, you're not going to get the M-rated content from both in an E10+ rated game.

One year ago today, The Great Ace Attorney was finally announced to be getting localised (if you ignore it getting leaked beforehand thanks to a data leak grumble grumble). As someone who's currently halfway through the first game, I couldn't be happier they managed to pull it off

@Kermit1 It's incredible, one of my favourite games of the year up with Legends Arceus so far. If you haven't played it yet, play the original Trilogy that's on the eShop, THEN get this one as well (I believe there's a bundle with all of them for €10 less than it would be separately).

@reporterdavid You too!

@Tyranexx Oh man, I'm sorry to hear. Your stomach wasn't feeling so hot, huh? I know that feeling very well...it's not fun to deal with. Glad to hear you're getting better.

Ah ok. The weather's sure been acting weird in some places, with the snow happening during spring.

Yes, those old games sure were difficult back in the day, so I really can't blame you. I remember getting Ninja Gaiden from the Wii Shop Channel, and it was insanely tough. Level 2 was when it really started to crank up the difficulty, though if I recall correctly, I did make it to level 3 one time. But that's it. I heard Ninja Gaiden 3 is especially hard, even to the point of having a limited amount of continues. Yeah...I don't think I'd want to subject myself to that game, lol. I think I heard the Japanese version is easier though.

@Sunsy Looks like we've been seeing the opposite of each other then, that is quite interesting indeed. Besides my grade school days in the late 90s, where Macs were more prevalent, it was all Windows computers everywhere I went. Especially 98, XP, and 7.

That's cool. I have more memories with Windows in general, since that's the OS I've pretty much used throughout my entire life. I don't recall playing those two games you've mentioned, but we'd play a ton of The Sims 1 on our Windows 98 PC back in the early 2000s, alongside many of the expansion packs. I remember we used a cheat code that would give infinite money too, lol.

@TheJGG It really is, you'd think that it would never snow in April whatsoever. It has stopped snowing here, thankfully. Hopefully it will remain like that before winter actually comes. I could really use a good sunny day. lol

I swear there has been like 2 days with solid weather this spring. Every other day is either snowing or the wind is blowing your head off. At least in utah, Maybe it is weird everywhere else.

I was worried my little windows tablet would end up Stardew Valley-less after the game threw a “this game requires a 64-bit system” error message today.

Thankfully the developer added a compatibility option in the “beta” menu on steam.

Is it a "good thing" that I never ever care about characters in games or even have emotional feelings during emotional moments. I mean I play games, I like games but I never care about the characters in them. Some characters look neat and I like them, but I don't care about them. The same with emotional moments in games, maybe it's because I'm Ultra mellow and those parts just don't click with me (probably). But oddly I have more emotion for characters in film and TV then I do games.

Sorry if I'm belting, I just wanted to get that off my chest.

Edit: sorry if it's a little run-a-long sentence heavy

@Kermit1 For me caring is only for real things not made up characters.

You can sympathize with the fantasy of the story but if you get start sobbing every time you see your favorite character getting killed it is not a good sign.
