@Ryu_Niiyama: I've considered moving somewhere towards the Southwest, such as Arizona or New Mexico. I don't mind heat most of the time, and I find the lack of humidity more attractive.
@ThanosReXXX: I'm also a her, my friend. No offense taken. I'm used to people confusing my gender. Some of it is because I have fairly short hair, and part of it is because I've lost some weight over the past year; half of my clothes are still baggy and falling off of me. Plus I won't give up my favorite jacket just yet.
@Blitzenexx Oh, dear. I stepped into that one, didn't I? Come to think of it, I remember you mentioning it to me once before, quite a while ago. Must also be your recent name change that confused me a bit.
That, and old age...
@GyroZeppeli It's not something Texas has had to deal with traditionally. And no offense to Texans, but the state isn't known for being open to new ideas... (not that my home state is any better, we poisoned an entire city with lead tainted water and blamed the victims)

@Heavyarms55 I take no offense in that, but to be fair, Texas isn’t known for really anything but stereotypes. I’ve only met a few people with a typical Southern accent, saying things like “sun-dee” instead of Sunday.
There was quite a big flood in my part of Houston just a few years before Harvey. Since then, no significant changes have really been made to mitigate any kind of flooding, making hundreds of homes still very vulnerable.

@GyroZeppeli Wasn't there some pretty nasty flooding on the east side of Texas just last year? Or was that Harvey? I can't remember exactly but I remember people talking about it.
To be fair, a lot of people dismiss flooding as an issue. Countless people build homes along the Mississippi river only to be washed away in floods and have different people, or even the same people move right in and rebuild in the same spot.

@Delibheel Well, all I can say to that is that I sure am glad that I wasn't living in California anymore when the fires happened. Although, come to think of it, I'm now living roughly 5 to 7 feet under water level, thanks to the Dutch people's amazing water defense building skills, so if that ever fails, I don't know which of the two habitats is actually worse...
@Heavyarms55 I’m pretty sure that was directly caused by Harvey. Late 2017-early 2018 really was a disaster for Houston, the worst case I saw was a local church getting so much damage that it was closed for half a year or more.

@ReaderRagfihs You're right, we shouldn't get into that here because we clearly see things quite differently on that subject.
@GyroZeppeli Ah okay that makes sense. Sounds terrible for that Church. If it was that badly damaged I wonder if they might have been better off totally rebuilding. Hopefully the time spent means there were very careful in the repairs. You really can't play with water damage.

@ReaderRagfihs Well maybe the bees were just messing with you, and when you went from destroying their nests to killing they decided to find a different human to toy with.
