Trust me, it hasn't been the worst we have had. What was annoying was that I was so comfy sleeping and the blasted thing woke me up. At least electricity hasn't gone out, so I'll guess I'll go play some more Bravely Default.
@Tyranexx
Thanks! I think I fear tornados more than earthquakes now, I've never been through one but, at least in TV they look terrible and destructive. How can you prepare against something like that?
On the other hand, we get earthquakes quite frequently here. But our infrastructure is made to resist quakes, so we're safe inside our houses - they aren't going to come down like you see in places like Haiti, unless they're really old and don't follow the building code.
Fun fact: Mexico City was built on top of an ancient lake, so the base is pretty much jelly. This means earthquakes are usually a lot stronger than they should be.
After a particularly strong one nearly destroyed the city, they started to care about infrastructure a bit more.

Oh well to be fair, the ancient people who lived there first where the ones who started to mess up the ancient lake with their ancient city.
Which was destroyed by the slightly less ancient spanish conquerors who then built a new city on top of it. But they apparently forgot to rebuild the dams they destroyed in the process.
And since floods aren't exactly good for cities, they had to drain it.
@Luna_110: I've never seen a tornado in person, but I've been relatively close to where one touched down before. I was driving home from work a few years ago and remember feeling uneasy when I looked in that particular direction (west) as the clouds were a sickly orange/yellow color. I learned later that a weak tornado touched down not five minutes after I passed through there. Thankfully it didn't cause any damage other than to some power lines and an old barn.
Typically your best bet in those situations is to take shelter in a basement or inner room without windows. In places like Oklahoma where tornados are very common, you'd be hard-pressed to find a home without a basement or storm shelter.
@Nintenerdguy: Good guess, but no. To be honest, I've barely been to the east coast (mostly the D.C. area, Florida, and northwest Georgia). I live in the lower Midwest, specifically Illinois.
I used to have a fear of tornados since I walked in on my uncle watching Twister when I was five, but I've pretty much gotten past that. I'm to the point now where I wouldn't mind seeing one in person from a distance, but I'm not crazy enough to be a storm chaser or anything and will definitely take cover if one comes close. XD
@Jcriotz

...Giving the anime girl avis a small break...then again I may end up forgetting and it'll stay like this for a while. xD
I think you should keep it Rick Sanchez always, because Rick is the best of best anime girl in the history of anime, because he is also kawaii, and is the professor of Pokemon GO!
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
