So I was helping clean out my grandma's house (she's moving) and came across some old Disney comic books from August '92. I have no idea how she got them to begin with, though they likely belonged to some older cousins of mine; I would have been shy of one year old at the time, so they definitely weren't meant for me.
There was apparently a promotion going on where you could collect pieces of a map of Duckburg (Ducktales, anyone?) in different comic books in celebration of Disneyland Paris opening up. (Then called EuroDisneyland?)
What I found really cool was some of the advertising. There's an ad for Honey, I Blew Up The Kid, and two ads for NES games: Daydreamin' Davey (never heard of this one) and Tiny Toon Adventures (this I have heard of).
Nothing big, really, I just think it's cool to find retro stuff like this. B)
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
Can you guys tell me whether you have the Wii U or not? I can atleast feel nice for those who haven't owned a Wii U like me as of now. And I know that the system itself isn't doing well but still.......
If the NX is gonna be revealed this year, I can't get that system if I get the Wii U......so I'm considering to skip the Wii U. If it weren't for parents, I could easily get the Wii U and the NX.
@Santa: I actually ended up ordered The Rise of the Empire which has both Tarkin and A New Dawn in it along with some short stories. Tarkin was my real interest, but having two stories for the price of one on Amazon and them both being canon was tempting. Sadly, it is not a hardcover though. My only concern with New Dawn is that it apparently leads up to the show Rebels, which looks kind of kiddie to me (this coming from a guy who plays more Mario games than anything else).

@Morpheel: But I won't be able to honour Iwata-San by avoiding the Wii U.....and what if the NX isn't backwards compatible?
Sure, just to get seven games only on the system isn't enough.....but then what's the point of not buying it if the NX isn't gonna be backwards compatible?
Man, I'm depressed.......its like this year is gonna be the worst year like last year. All because its too late to get the Wii U right now.
@Morpheel: But I won't be able to honour Iwata-San by avoiding the Wii U.....and what if the NX isn't backwards compatible?
You don't need to buy all of someone's products in order to honour them. Saying nice things about them or praising them can also count as honouring them.
If I didn't have a Wii U yet, then I would probably wait now for NX information to come out before deciding whether to buy a Wii U.
@Socar: me too, I dont mean to mock or insult or anything but ive been lurking for a couple of months now in the forums and I too am wondering whats with your extreme dedication to Nintendo and Iwata?
@TwilightAngel: Basically, they are responsible for making me happy and the sole reason that I'm having faith. The people in Nintendo have a strong passion towards not just games....but having a passion to bring people out of depression by putting smiles on their faces including mine. To lose that source of passion is like losing faith.
When you see the negative things people say about Nintendo, they don't lose faith in what they do and somehow they win back. Sure, its risky, but at the same time, its faith.
They inspired me to become a game creator and my dream is to make games exclusively for Nintendo. If I can't do that, then I might as well be a farmer or a garbage boy forgetting my past joy or maybe even go somewhere lower.
I don't see why its weird to have an obsession with a corporate especially if that corporate drives someone a source of passion.
Outside of Nintendo, I lose faith. Infact my mom is pleading me to smile quite often. If Nintendo goes, so does my faith.
Corporates exist to make money and that's true especially for Nintendo. But Nintendo to me is more than just a corporate. They are a source of energy that still drives me even now.
