Those games are really fun, creative and in most cases, beautiful to see and hear. The franchise will personally go down as the most underrated Nintendo franchise.
This thread talks about the entire Art Style series as a whole. Do you think the games don't get enough attention? Do you want to see a new generation of art style games using 3D? What is your favorite Art Style game that you've played? Please speak about it here.
My personal favorite is Base 10 on DSiware. I'd call it the most unique puzzle I've seen. In a nutshell, you're supposed to flip numbers, and eliminate numbers that add up to 10 vertically and horizontally
Art Style Light Trax was another great game in the series. Involving you to race other lines, in an art style referncing the Vectrex. There is also a free race mode, that I played very competively with myself. Its also the best stress taker I've seen on the Wii, next to Kirby's Epic Yarn.
Art Style is so good, none of the games have a score lower than 8, from Nintendo Life's reviews.
What are your favorite games in the Art Stye series? Talk about it below.
Yup, it was only time.
I find it strange that Sony can make all these artistic games that get all the press, but when Nintendo does it, only few recognize it outside of the Wii/DSi devotees. I fear these can be forgotten in the industry overtime. And for those who have played it, know that would be a pretty bad thing.
Orbient was easily my favorite, although for some reason I keep coming back to Cubello. I personally found Digidrive to be underwhelming. Pictobits was cool.
Best thread ever
Feel free to add me on Miiverse or PSN.
Miiverse is Moomoo14, PSN is Moomoo1405390
I personally love the art style series. The only one I wasn't big on was zengage. My favorites were base 10, pictobits, and orbient. I really hope nintendo eventually releases some new art style games on the 3ds (or wii u) eshop. Art style games would likely look totally gorgeous in 3d!
Pictobits was probably my least favorite, maybe because it didn't feel like "Art Style" to me. Just this decent (but not great) puzzler coasting on retro charm.
The others had a lot more to offer than that, particularly in terms of atmosphere. That's something so many games lack, but Orbient, Aquite, Light Trax, Boxlife...jeez, I guess all of the other ones I've played...they all feel like an EXPERIENCE.
I would love to see more. Personally I thought You Me and the Cubes deserves to be an honorary Art Style game.
Rotazoa and Orbient are probably my favorites. Light Trax I pretty much hated. I know a lot of people dig it I just can't fathom why. It's more minimalist than most Atari games.
