Not usually unless something big happens. Like the bank robbery that I saw the other day on the way to dinner.

Question #320: Do you watch or read the news?

No. I don't like being depressed.

Read. It's quicker, more convenient, more in-depth, and available whenever I want or need it. If you have the patience required to read something instead of watching it, it's the superior option in all areas.

I try to make a habit of spending a few minutes a day reading about national and world events at CNN.com and BBC News.

If I'm flicking through channels and nothing interesting is on I'll watch it. I almost never read it.

I try to avoid 99% of news, because in Australia there is not a single publication or news channel that that cares about quality journalism. It's all sensationalist, biased crap, it's just that some is more more subtle about it than others.

I do however rate the New York Times, The Guardian and Al Jazeera. Between the three of them I get a pretty good cross section of news.

And Bloomberg for the financial stuff, though that's more because of work than any particular interst in it.

Such as Today Tonight and A Current Affair, you mean?

And Channel 7 news, which is Today Tonight Version 2.

Australia media really is terrible.

Read the news, mainly because I don't have my own TV.

Nope. If I don't talk to you any more, it's because I don't want to talk to you any more.
