Now I don't know if this kind of thread has been done already. But I thought I would post this thread anyway, because I would like to know what kind of rig you all have.
My PC specs are AMD Phenom X4 9750 @ 2.4 GHz (Quad core) 6 GB DDR2 RAM PNY GeForce GTS 250 1GB GDDR3 Antec Earthwatts 650W PSU Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit
I was about to post a sensible answer, but then Prosody's reply loomed as I scrolled down towards the Reply box. I've completely forgotten what the thread was about now.
...Is the right answer "My TV wears contact lenses"?

My wife and I share a G4 iBook that's from 2006 -- still does what I need it to do (surf the web, balance my current account, organise my music and play MAME), but I don't really mix home computers and gaming -- that's why I have three Wiis!
Mine's like this. I'm no expert at PCs. Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) 2048MB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT

Yeah it's been done before (haven't they all). I remember fondly, Prosody posting a picture of a computer, wearing glasses. Laugh out loud, that was.
I'm surrounded by pc's and am tired of splashing stats on the net, [Now now, be nice: Edited - Admin]
I play Crysis with full settings if that tells you anything. ATI Crossfire ftw!
Can it run Wolfenstein with all full settings?

I am probably a real exception... I have a Computing degree but I have had the same computer since 2005. I built it from scratch, it runs Linux and to be perfectly honest it does all I need of it. Faster CD rips, DVD rips and compile times would be nice I guess.
specs: AMD Athlon XP 64: 3000+ (its 1.8GHz and its single core) 1GB DDR, dual channel 512s (cost me $120 which was stupidly cheap at the time) Nvidia FX5200 (I was never a big PC gamer) 120GB SATA HDD (when SATA was crazy new) 16x Pioneer DVD burner Floppy Drive (lol! cost $10, I used it a couple of times and then got a 128MB thumb drive for $60)
All up it cost me $1300 including a 17" CRT but it was a HUGE upgrade from my previous 1GHz AMD Duron with TNT2 and 20Gb HDD. Since I got it I have had three cosmetic-ish upgrades. I got a new Monitor, a 22" widescreen LCD, I then got an external 250GB HDD and more recently a wireless N network card. I think now that I can buy a netbook for $900 that beats it in specs it might be worth upgrading.

Yes, I have 1750 GB of total disk space, and a triple-boot system! I'm about halfway through it.
The rig runs Crysis at Medium settings (in DX9 mode) at 1280x1024 almost perfectly, and has no problems with Sims 2. Assassin's Creed works surprisingly well, too, with most of the settings maxed (in DX9, again). I also get about 50 FPS when emulating SSBB in Dolphin with everything maxed. SMG, however, runs like crap at only 15 FPS. COD4 runs like silk with everything maxed during an intense firefight. I'm fairly happy with its performance, but for some reason, I just can't play 1080p video (read: Blu-ray) on it! I'm wondering if I can possibly smack a quad-core in there, but seeing as the motherboard is a Sokcet 939 one, it's probably hopeless.
If anyone knows anything about socket types and whether I could get a quad-core of some kind in there, please tell me!
@Feld0 Socket 939 was retired ages ago. I think the last and most powerful CPU for it was the A64 FX 60 which, as far as I am aware, was only dual core (wiki confirms!). Having said that, video playback is mostly thrown onto the GPU these days. I am willing to bet that the media player you are using doesn't have the hardware acceleration option available/enabled. Grab Media Player Classic, VLC or something similar and you might have better luck.
Triple booting Windows.... I guess if you think its necessary. At the very least Win7 supersedes Vista and Vista, mostly, supersedes XP MCE. The way I see it you are just adding one more screen you have to load on boot. I'd get it if you had different OSes all together (a light OS, Linux Win, OSX) but three flavours of Windows seems like a waste of effort.
