This is a fairly good game. I have only gotten to the outpost place, so I don't know much.

But when are we gonna talk about TTYD?

@zez There's still plenty of time left, but still start soon! Having a lot of fun playing through it.

Never. This thread is the NL Game Club's Paper Mario session. The point is to get people to finish the game and chat about it. The club sounds perfect for you since you've only made it to Dry Dry Outpost, but if you're not interested then please don't go off-topic.

@lockelocke: As it just so happens, I DID stop playing for a couple of days! But I'm back now, and a small way into Chapter 3.

Just starting Lavalava Island as well. I've got 2 power plus badges and the all or nothing badge equipped, so i'm pretty much smokin through the baddies.

MAYBE SPOILER?: Is 30 the most badge points you can have? Or are they forcing me to finally level up my HP or FP?

SuperPeach

@she_gamer Yup once it says it's maxed out that's as much as you can upgrade it.

@she_gamer: Yeah, I mentioned earlier that the maxes are 50 HP, 50 FP, and 30 BP. If not, I'd probably want even more BP as well.

I'm getting to the end of Chapter 3 now. Getting to the point where I actually need to level some HP...darn.

@Stuffgamer: That's right, I remember reading that now. Drat. After playing Paper Mario TTYD I'm so used to relying on badges.

SPOILER: What badges do you find most useful? Right now I've got two power plus, all or nothing, quick change, flower finder, power bounce, chill out, and... zap tap (for the fuzzies on the island) and I think that's all I can have. I'm dealing 10 damage per jump attack which is nice.

I tend to go a bit more defensive...Happy Flower, Happy Heart, Damage Dodge, Dodge Master... I do like Power Plus, but only have the one thus far. I bought Zap Tap but don't need it quite yet. I do love me some Power Bounce for sure...my current record is 24 bounces.

Wow... not quite there yet myself! I'm still adjusting to the minor timing differences between this and TTYD.

@she_gamer: Funny thing is I can't get anywhere near that when it would actually come in handy, say...against a boss. I did it against a relatively wimpy enemy who was dead after less than a third of the hits.

Next up for me is finally entering the Chapter 4 area.

Arkia

Played a lot of this yesterday and got to the beginning of the last chapter! I also got the majority of everything there is to collect, and the only things left require coins. Lots of coins. So I'm wondering if anyone knows a quick way to get lots of coins.

Raylax

I played it for a bit yesterday. Walked back from Koopa Castle to Mushroom Town (or whatever it's called). And uh... didn't do anything else, asides one or two sidequests xD
I'll head for Dry Dry Outpost later

@Arkia: The Game Room is the fastest way to earn coins. Just be sure to save often in case you lose miserably.

I'm now saved partway through Chapter 4, but I've been distracting myself with other games and haven't played in a couple of days. Plus, I'm not particularly looking forward to working my way through Tayce T.'S recipes. Stupid obsessive completionist impulses...

Arkia

@Stuffgamer1: I thought about using the Game Room, but didn't want to because it seems purely luck based and wouldn't be very reliable. For a while I had a good thing going selling Whacka Bumps (The first shop in Toad Town pays 64 coins for them!) but I think I killed the Whacka D: I eventually settled on having Tayce T. make Sweet Shrooms and then selling those for 70 coins each.

Stuffgamer1

@Arkia: Yeah...there are a limited number of Whacka's Bumps. It's kind of funny talking to him as you collect them, 'cause he goes more and more insane with each whack.

As far as purely luck-based earnings not being reliable...that may be true, but I tend to find that those methods, if easily reachable from a save point, still tend to be faster than others. I do the same thing with the "money-making game" in the original Legend of Zelda.
