Did anyone else who read Nintendo Power's November issue notice the terrible spoilers with MGS 3D (p. 36) and Tales of Symphonia (p. 53)? I'm not going to say what they are to keep from spreading the spoilers, so please only post if you read the issue. I'm curious if anyone else was as annoyed as me (I already sent them an email about it).
Edit: I had forgotten about the spoilers for Twilight Princess and Wind Waker (both p.60). The last sentence of the Twilight Princess section is particularly bad. I passed over these more easily because I had, thankfully, already played both games. That said, I just beat Twilight Princess last month...too close for my taste.
yes i got it lol the 2nd paragarp about how so so became so so iam i right about it

Even though the games were originally released years ago, many people have never played them. The whole point of putting them in the magazine was to get people interested. Tales of Symphonia was listed as a must-own Gamecube game, and they told me the twist to literally half the game (they said it happens at the end of the first half). I still want it, but I won't get as much out of it as if they hadn't said the spoiler. The same goes for MGS, but on a larger scale, since they actually ruined a HUGE plot point, which I'd imagine relates to the other games too. I haven't played them yet, but my brother, who's a hardcore fan, assured me that it was as big as it looked. There's really no excuse for putting something like that in a preview. They don't even put spoilers like that in reviews!
Though those 2 were big, there's also their Twilight Princess and Wind Waker (both p.60) parts of the "best Gamecube Games" section spoilers. Particularly the last sentence about Twilight Princess.
If it annoyed you, I'd recommend sending them an email. The address is listed in the Pulse (letters to the staff) section.
I am so glad there is a thread for this! Iove Nintendo Power! By far the best Videogame magazine! I did notice those but @kkslider5552000 have a point, Those games already came out a long time ago.
I was surprised to here some of it, but come on you guys. People play videogames for the challenge and for fun not for story. My videogame motto is If you want a good story either go watch a movie or read a book.
Not to excuse them, but don't single out Nintendo Power. Many previews reveal way too much. I try hard not to follow previews too closely. I haven't watched or read anything on Resident Evil Revelations or Zelda Skyward Sword since I discovered their release dates. That's all I needed to know.
@hawkeyeWii I respect your motto, but a lot of people actually do play games for the story. Many games, particularly RPG's, rely on story to sell games. Even games in which story isn't the most important element use a good story to move gameplay along, and a spoiler can make playing through it feel hollow. If you want games where the story is very important, look no further than all modern Final Fantasy's, all Metal Gears, Beyond Good and Evil, and Bioshock. There are many others.
Also, there were no spoiler warnings. If there had been, I would have nothing to complain about.
@Gamesake This isn't a matter of a preview telling too much about what to expect in the game so much as a complete revealing of the ending.
I am the TrueWiiMaster! Those who call the Wii casual BEWARE!
What? Spoil Tales of Symphonia, a game so filled with JRPG clichés that I'm convinced it's actually a parody? I didn't think it was possible.
I would like to let you know as someone who's played the game extensively, the game's strengths do not lie in the story but within the battle system. Oh and Kratos is awesome, so there's that too.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
That does sound frustrating, especially with how amazing the story of Tales of Symphonia is but I still highly recommend getting the game and from what you said, I'm guessing they spoiled the events that happen the first time the characters go to the tower of salvation then there is still a lot more to the story after that as it just keeps getting better and better.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
