Topic: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

The end of Friendship is Magic is what concerns me about season 3 only being 13 episodes at present. I've read speculation that Hasbro would want to limit the series to 65 episodes because of something to do with syndication. If FiM wasn't a success, I can see Hasbro just casually winding the series down with a minimum of episodes. But, it seems doing so would be akin to not only shooting themselves in the foot, but also slitting their own throat! It has to be a rarity (apologies, my beloved marshmallow pony ) for ANY show on TV, cartoon or not, to capture so many demographics.

Honestly, it would completely turn me against Hasbro to the point I'd have NOTHING whatsoever to do with G5 if they just do a bare minimum of FiM episodes, and just end it. I imagine they'd enrage a great number of Bronies that way, and they want to keep their customers whatever their gender and age. That's called BUSINESS, and it would be BAD BUSINESS to just duck out this soon in order to start G5 ponies or avoid syndication fees.

I'm not sure what Hasbro's deal is with making the new pony generations. They've had now 4 generations since MLP started up in the 80s. So, that worries me too, that they get a bug up their flank to make a new generation after so many years, just like the Big 3 have to make a new game system after X number of years (an average of 5 for Nintendo). And it's that way with so many things! So many companies emphasize NEW NEW NEW so much that you can't enjoy their current product for too long. If they bring in G5 or end it early because of this syndication crap, I'll just wind up turning in my Brony membership card out of anger and they'll have lost one of many who LOVE these ponies, and don't want to see them leave anytime soon!

Frankly, why EVER have G5 ponies? You can have up to G100, and NOTHING will ever top our Friendship is Magic ponies. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER!

I pray for AT LEAST 6 seasons. Even then, it would be hard to say goodbye. Maybe it's silly, being a cartoon and all, but the show and ponies have come to mean a great deal to me. I'll have a hard enough time saying goodbye to House and the Desperate Housewives this season. I lose ponies shortly thereafter, somepony is gonna have to talk me off a ledge!!!

I'm sorry I left so abruptly last night. I wasn't rage quitting on you at all, wanted to make sure you know. Really enjoyed racing with you! I simply didn't have as much time as I thought, and had to leave suddenly. I'm sorry about your problems (and the mass of homework). There are so many problems (primarily money) that I'm having a rough time here as well. It's hard to even focus on school work with everything else going on. Ponies, racing, and coming here are some of the few bright points I have right now.

Nothing to be sorry for, I'm the one who just disappeared before I could race you and Alberto. I'm going to try to race more while I have a LITTLE lull in things, so I'll catch you next time. And yes, it is one of the CUTEST THINGS EVER! Then again, that's pretty much everything involving Fluttershy!

I have a lot of nights like that, especially with life simply wearing me out lately (of course some days, I just don't want to get out of bed, LOL). And I'm always ready for cute Fluttershy/other pony pics! One of those things a person simply can't get enough of!

I got Revelaitons. I haven't been able to have matches with anyone from NL yet. D: Also, I'm barely lV 5.

@Fluttershyguy Look at the fanbase. If Hasbro makes 13 episodes only for season 3, the fanbase and maybe the animators themselves can easily protest and "revolt". They can even change company for all that matters, seeing that Hasbro doesn't own all the rights to MLP anyways (last time I checked).

Let's move on.

Also, most cartoons are in seasons with 13 episodes each

@ZeroX Some of those are ANIME! Cartoons and Anime are completely different.

Okay! @Everypanini, don't worry about it.
If Hasbro decides to end the series with only 2 and a half seasons, then, alright. At least we had an awesome series, even though it was short.
Most likely Generation 5 will feature some elements of Generation 4, maybe, we'll see the return of some of our favorite ponies! Remember, Hasbro does this sort of thing all of the time; they reboot a franchise (Transformers, G.I. Joe, Strawberry Shortcake), and keep certain elements and characters (Optimus Prime, Duke, Strawberry Shortcake) from previous iterations. So, instead of thinking of G5 as another horrible installment of Hasbro produced commercials, give it a chance. We all gave G4 a chance, and look at where we are now!

@Magic-Wind some may be animes, but transformers, last air bender and Mlp are not. Spider Riders and Sonic X were Candian/American productions who hired Japanese artists. Although they were not successful in Japan, they sum up my childhood. There are also countless Canadian cartoons I can name who have 30+ episodes per season for 2-10 seasons. MLP is not at risk.

I just had the best idea ever for a hypothetical G5; the mane 6 and all, but older and Twilight taking in a pupil who wants to pursue her researches on the magic of friendship. The disciple can be introduced as a lonely pony who has unique skills, and seeks friends. The student hears of Celestia's once greatest student, Twilight Sparkle. It sounds like G4, but Hasbro can twist it enough to keep the familiarity, while avoiding redundance.

If Hasbro does this, they are basically going: Oh, hey guys! Don't forget about us! Remember how you guys loved all of this? Look! When even brought back Derply Hoof, or whatever, back! Just, please, buy our stuff! Our profits went down 70 percent after we canceled Friendship is Magic!

@Everypony: Is it too much of a far fetched idea to bet that they could be ending the show because Lauren Faust is leaving and they're running out of ideas? Better to end while the show is still good than to keep going on for 12 years and cease to be as good as it used to, like Spongebob. Ever since the original director left that, it was a mess. FiM seemed to have kept itself afloat though.
But, really, let's not worry about it.

@Applejacklove - Thank you. I know what you mean, seemed more light hearted when planned but well, turned kind of dark, my sense of humour can be sooo twisted, can't it? Oh, well next one will start into tomorrow and then I'll send a swapnote picture when its ready.

I expect it to be just like every other episode. And I'm fine with that.

I imagine the reaction to the whole of season 2 will greatly influence Hasbro to continue the show's support.
