@WoomyNNYes What season of American Gods are you on? I loved the book and the first season is great (although they did grag out the Mr. Wednesday reveal) but season 2 was pish so I'm lacking the enthusiasm to watch season 3.

@jump I watched seasons 1 & 2 during STARZ channel preview, which ended before I could see season 3. So, I guess I'm waiting for season 3 to stream somewhere.

EDIT: I think I saw episodes 1 & 2 of season three, before the STARZ preview eneded, and I wanted to see more.

@WoomyNNYes apparently season 3 is an improvement but it’s still got cancelled. I’m surprised it didn’t get cancelled sooner with all the stories about racism, being over budget, recasting etc backstage.

Began watching the Snyder Cut of Justice League.

I think roughly twelve of the first fifteen minutes of this four-hour version are all slow motion.

Ugh, there's art, and then there's overindulgence.

@Magician I’m on the fence about watching that film. It’s way too long for me though, I couldn’t even watch Tenet twice and that was a measly 2h30

I finished watching the Josstice League version and the Synder Cut, and I have to say I don't know how any WB executive let Josh get away with so much. He butchered the film to the point it became a laughing stock. The man single handily killed the DCEU. Well, that's what you get when you hire a creep like Josh Widen. Poor Gal Gadot had to deal with this guy for gods know how long.

The Synder cut isn't perfect, but it's a massive improvement over the original cringefest, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also loved Stephens Wolf's puppy eyes. Reminded me of a cute pitbull. I don't think Zach Synder is a great director, but the executives taking advantage of the tragedy that struck Synder is absolutely disgusting. No one deserves that.

I also watched the Sonic movie. It was okay—your typical kids' movie.

The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

@MsJubilee Joss Whedon killing the DCEU is an overstatement, it was pretty much dead on arrival. Joss Whedon took over with the notes on not doing what so many people hated about Synder’s Batman v Superman which he did. There’s also plenty of people who were bullying still within the Warner Bros like Geoff Johns who sadly would be one of the better people to be DC’s Feegie to actually make a connected DC movie universe.

Even with this being a directors cut they still couldn’t handle it right with it being turned into a mini-series only for the last second to turn it into a movie hence the disgusting run time.

For as much fanfare as The Snyder Cut is getting, which is an average movie replacing another average movie, Birds Of Prey doing so-so is far more disappointing to me. It looks visually amazing from the shots, costumes, stages and action and I wanted to see more of the characters. At least The New Suicide Squad movie seems like it could be cool.

I honestly can’t remember when it was the last time that I watched a movie. I think it might’ve been “No Country for Old Men”, but I’m unsure.

Lol The Space Jam: A New Legacy trailer just came out yesterday and it's basically looking like the warner bros version of ready player one, not holding out high hopes at all. Also need this confirmed but is Rathalos seen in the scene with Iron Giant? If you watch the 2:37 trailer it's at 1:41 - 1:42

Games I'm playing right now:
Tears of the Kingdom - Switch

Kingdom Hearts 2 - PS4

It's the future, @FroZtedFlakerZz. We can totally post youtube trailers here. It's amazing! Just messing with ya, and posting the trailer for others, if they want to see.

I wish Looney Tunes used delivery style more like the classic cartoons. When yosammity sam shoots daffy duck in the face(in the trailer), they killed the timing, and inject unneeded sassy-ness. The original cartoon Rabbit Fire was a comedic masterpiece example, but the trailer trashed that comedic formula. Sigh.

In the end, I think this new trailer looks a bit cooler than the OG space jam.

@Link-Hero At 1:23 in the the new movie trailer, yosammity sam shoots daffy in the face, (more or les). So, the violence seems like it's still there, in this case. The comedic timing and delivery are terrible. Gotta un-funny things for the children In general, thought, today vs classic cartoon days, gotta protect the children. I think you're right.

@FroZtedFlakerZz, I think it's a dragon from Game of Thrones. At an earlier point in the trailer when LeBron falls into "Tune World", he passes by the GoT world.

I'm betting even those who saw the original MK in theaters and have huge nostalgia for it gotta be thinking the reboot is pretty good. I was one of them and yeah I'll always fondly remember the first one but when the new movie is rated R and has some damn fine martial arts talent behind it you know they did this right! It could have been better but not a bad effort considering the travesty of annihilation.

I mean have you watched the old one recently? It's so campy and looks even lamer now. The costumes are pretty terrible too. The fight with Liu kang and shang tsung at the end is basically just the two of them slapping their arms together and occasionally ducking and weaving. That's not a fight. It's more like dances with fists. Heck alot of the fights are more like a ballet. Take raiden vs the three reptiles in annihilation for example. (Yeah i actually paid to see that one too) Hey shut up i was 16!

So yeah new one wins for actually trying this time. The original will always be a fun memory but I've grown up since then. This is the MK movie we should have gotten.

@Zeldafan79 I saw 90's MK (for the 2nd time maybe?) last year, I was running out of new movies, as rubbish as it is it was really fun too.

Goro was great despite being really stiff moving and there were a few okay preformances from Liu Kang and Shang Tsung. Sonya stands out as being terrible though, not alot of charisma or fighting ability but is saved with how she kills Kano and the CGI even at the time was bad.

@jump
Yeah i still love the scorpion vs Cage fight in the original. Scorpion goes welcome! Get down here! Johnny's line to goro about the 500 dollar sunglasses is classic and the nut punch though silly had the audience rolling with laughter! Then rayden punches a guy in the shoulder and goes YES! HA HA!...sorry. LOL! Gotta love christopher lambert!
Oh and that soundtrack is iconic! Who as a kid didn't pretend fight with their siblings when they heard that song? I know i did!

@Zeldafan79 Yeah that song like the movie was rubbishly good. I wish all the games had it on the fighter select screens.

the Blue Lagoon (Amazon Prime Video) - Set during the 1800's it follows a pair of kids who survive a shipwreck (initially with the help of a salty old sailor called Patty), and must learn the realities of life & love by themselves as they grow up on the island.

I remember liking it when I was around 12-14 (probably because of all the nudity), but going back to it now it's a dreadfully dull film (especially post-Patty). Pretty shots of wildlife, though.

Bumblebee (Amazon Prime Video) - Prequel of the Transformers films that follows the titular Autobot as he first arrives on Earth, and with the help of a human teenager protects the planet (and the future of his own race) from Decepticon invasion.

Pretty standard popcorn flick. All the 80's music is great, but overall I'd peg it about the same quality as all the other Transformers movies (though I had no particular attachment to the franchise as a kid, so keep that in mind).

A Goofy Movie (Disney+) - Feeling his teenage son Max is pulling away from him, Goofy decides to drag him along for a cross country fishing trip (a family tradition), but Max has different ideas for their destination as he lies about the nature of the trip in an effort to salvage a fledgeling relashonship with the girl he likes.

I always caught the sequel to this, An Extremely Goofy Movie, as a kid & always wanted to see the original but never found it on. I'm glad I was finally able to see it, as while it's probably just because it tugged at all the right nostalgia strings (our own family used to take annual summer fishing trips), I really found myself connecting with & enjoying it.

Gunbuster (HiDive via VRV) - A condensed film version of the classic anime OVA series from the creator of Evangelion that follows a young teenage girl who goes from bumbling recruit to a key figure in defending humanity from an alien threat.

Animation is absolutely fantastic & there's definitely strong story & themes behind it (I liked the consequences of the flow of time being different for space travellers, so her friends back on Earth became middle aged while only a few months passed for her), however it feels supremely rushed as you can tell tons have been chopped out in order to fit it in movie form (unfortunately this seems to be the only version legally available to stream or buy in the US), and for some reason the subtitles cut out during the last 10 minutes which was infuriating (even after backing out & trying to restart, they keep cutting out at the exact same spot).

Star Wars Episode 1: the Phantom Menace (Disney+) - the first of the prequel films which follows how a young Anakin Skywalker first got involved in the struggles of a galaxy far, far away.

I won't have much to say on it since I believe I did a big write up on it last year when I watched it, but it's one of the first movies I remember going to the theater to see, so it'll always hold a special place for me despite it's flaws.

Switch - Blade Strangers

Watched Tenet. I liked it. It definitely scratched my itch for a new science fiction movie.
