@Artwark: Dude do me a favor and just stop. You are totally not getting what I am saying. I don't know if it's your age, you not knowing how the business world works or maybe both. But your not getting it. It has nothing to do with how good the games are.

Mobile games keep bringing in money at a consent rate, console games are a one time 60 dollar price tag and that's only if they are bought new companies like Konami don't get a dime if the games are bought used. Also take the economy to. People are more likely to pay a buck or two here a micro transaction once in awhile too which Konami will get. Now will most people put 60 dollars down for a game as quickly as a dollar mobile game probably not instead people are more inclined to buy it used which Konami doesn't get. Also with Iga gone now and the last 3 Castlevania games being flops and Kojima gone what other big cash cows do they have? Yes console gamers will stop supporting them but how many mobile gamers will they still have and be gaining?

Problem is what IP would fit into the phones. Can Castlevania fit into a Smartphone with the controls being touch based?

People keep forgetting that Mobile gaming is centered to young kids and old people so the fact that many critics complained at how bad the Wii is for what it tried to do but yet doing this feels ok because of how it generates money faster than the Wii despite it just being a simpler version of the Wii......then yeah, that's a huge brain disorder that the people have. I can't see teenagers or average adults playing smartphones games as much as console games unless it appears to be the only option to be accessible. Infact, I don't know how simply having Nintendo games on a phone is gonna motivate gamers to purchase their consoles and handhelds because these markets are most likely not gonna be able to get those products like India for example. Sure, it generates money but if its going to have a virtual d-pad instead of a controller, then no. Kinda the reason why I want Sonic 2 and 3 remastered ported on PC like CD.

Oh my god I just remember Konami bought them out.

OH NO! Those poor Hudson Soft IP's! ;___; What was the point if you're not going to do anything with them!? At least Bomberman would be fitting on phones and has the most likely chance of continuing. But knowing Konami the dream really is dead. RIP Bomberman.

Get ready, because you'll be able to play Adventure Island: The Continuation on the go!

And you'll be able to pay for more fruit, just $0.99 each! Weee...

And also $0.99 for each extra box to hide under in Metal Gear Solid VI.

Who says that they will use existing IPs? Metal Gear is a rumor right now but that's all it is. Just because they have the IPs doesn't mean they would use them. Also the can use the IPs different too. Maybe instead of a traditional console Castlevania they make a Castlevania card game for mobile or a Flappy Bird clone where you guide Alucard in Bat form avoiding tombstones or something. They don't have to make it an action adventure game.

Konami's been on the downward slope for a while. Can't say that I'm at all surprised.

So Konami has brought their Contra mobile game to NA and Europe called Contra Returns. I downloaded it and have been playing it the past few hours and I have to say it is quite fun and feels like a Contra game. Of course they have mobile mechanics in it such as being able to level up your guns and heroes but game play wise it feels like a contra game. The only thing is in this game you have an actually life bar rather then dieing in one hit. They actually fleshed out the story a bit too but it's a pretty good game. Not sure how long it will keep my interest but so far I am enjoying it.

@Tasuki

Although video games aren't Konami main focus business wise anymore, there's still a glint of magic within the properties they own. GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon is one of my most anticipated games releasing on Switch in 2022.

Switch Physical Collection - 1,555 games (as of March 31st, 2026)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
