Just a quick question because something happened the other day. It was my boyfriends birthday, so his family came to visit. I had left my 3DS on the side of the couch, on the arm of the chair where I always sit. My boyfriends brother sits nearby with his girlfriend, and while I'm on the other side of the room, he just grabs my 3ds without asking for a go, opens it up, switches it on, starts up a game and says casually to his girlfriend sat next to him "Look its a 3DS, you want one of these" And then he passes it to her! (A person I had just met 5 minutes previously by the way - I mean I knew the family quite well but this girl was new) Obviously she had some manners as she looked over at me briefly before gingerly taking the 3ds and immediately passing it back to her fella. It just irked me a little as my own brothers ALWAYS ask for a go before even touching it - a 3DS is a very personal thing! Also if people ask first you can give them the whole yes but don't smudge filth all over the buttons, smudge the screens etc etc....Anyway I kept my mouth shut with a false smile and tolerated it, It is a totally minor thing anyway, but I just wondered how other gamers felt about this because I think a few people would have kicked up a fuss in my position!

I don't mind letting others have a go on my 3DS, I've let quite a few people have a go at school and colllege but if someone else is on it, I have to be close by, I won't let anyone go out of sight with my 3DS. I prefer to watch them so I know what they're doing on it but depending on how trustworthy they are, I don't mind it if I do something else, as long as they're close by. No one has ever taken my 3DS and played on it without asking. Also, if I'm about to play some multi-player on the Wii, I have to be the one who sets it up and I'm always player 1.
I'm too kind I let people borrow my games and play my 3DS, but I watch them play my 3DS, but still the borrowing is going to stop Aug 19 for sure with NSMB2 being DL, that's why I like DL games, I hate to let people borrow my games, the only game I gave away for free was TWEWY to my best gal pal (I really want it back, but don't wanna ask her for it back, I just wanna find another copy for myself) she was so happy when I gave it to her

Not very. I've loaned dozens of games to friends without a worry. Hell, my 3DS has spent about the half the time I've owned it in the possession of someone else.
Eh in that case I'd be irritated. I don't think I'm too possessive but then I only live with my significant other who doesn't touch anything anyways, so I don't really know.
Now my Ipad on the other hand, I would buy an electric force field case if I could. lol
Glad it's not just me
I'm pretty good with actual borrowing if people ask first Fortunately I only have one friend who plays 3DS games, and the system doesn't even belong to him but to his six year old son, who plays the games too, and he's so cute, how can I say no? Nawwwwww..... My bro has my original DS and all my games for it but since I got my 3DS I've let him hold on to the DS for months now, even though I secretly want it back so I can play Animal Crossing

tbh, it`s not just games, i never lend out anything, ever. this is because i`ve had so called friends brake things i`ve lent to them, and then they even had the cheek by not wanting to replace them or atleast pay me back the money for the value of the things they`ve broken.
i will let people use my games as long as i`m in the room.
my 3DS however, never leaves my pocket unless i`m using/charging it, or my jeans need a wash.
the other thing, it bugs me when people touch my stuff without asking. i will always make some remark about being polite and asking first.
I consider them my prized possessions, if that tells you anything. I've never sold or lent out a game going back almost 30 years. When a GameStop employee mentions trading in games, I only answer with a glare.
Ever since my friends PS2 ground halos and scratches of death into some my BEST PS2 games I haven't let anyone barrow a game. One person is asking to rent Metroid Prime Trilogy to him. I PAID $80 FOR A NEW COPY SO IF HE WANTS TO RENT IT HE BETTER BE READY TO PAY $5 PER DAY AND GIVE ME A FREE GAME. That is how possessive I am over my games.

You have the right to disagree with me and the ability to consider anything valid that I say; Please exercise both.
My 3DS is nearly always within arm's reach of me so it's usually a bit hard for someone to just pick it up and play it with my permission.
I'm fine with someone I trust playing it, but I have to be watching because I don't want people messing around with my system.
I wouldn't lend out my 3DS games just because they save to the cartridge rather than the system but I don't have a problem lending out my Wii games as long as I know the person is going to return them undamaged.
I'm actually pretty eager to show people my 3DS, and if it's someone I really know, I have no problem with them playing it. Heck, as a kid, me and my friends were always trading games we had beaten, so we'd have new stuff to play (mostly with portable games, but console games weren't out of the question).
Although If I think my dad's going to touch one of my gaming devices, I always pop in something mainstream like Mario or Call of Duty. He's the stereotypical "Football Dad" that thinks anything like Zelda, Final Fantasy, ect are wierd (when I was playing FFX when I was 12 or 13, he called it Final F*gasy).
