Which do you like better: Genesis or Collins, Banks, Rutherford, and Hackett?

While CBRH did have many great songs, their popularity was primarily due to their catchiness and toned down music that made them understandable to the mainstream audience. CBRH wasn't even the same band, they might as well have taken the name The Phil Collins Band or something. Of course, bands evolve, but CBRH was like a coup. When Gabriel Left, an entirely new band arose. It's as if Collins didn't even know how to compose, so he went with what was popular.

Hear hear.

And then after Collins' untimely death as Fleet Commander in the First Milky Way War, the band was forced to replace their lead drummer with a shape-shifting android known only as F. When their sound slowly drifted toward intergalactic gumball technopop with the release of the OP Laser Skies for Bright Blue Eyes, many of their most hardcore fans jumped ship for the Ratattat Brigade who's powerful anti-warp electro fantasy orchstra was really catching on in the space club scene. It really wasn't the same thing after that. Sure, they had followers, but everything has followers. They never reached the same heights as they did, you know?

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
