Because Sarah PLAIN is just too weird for most people.
Well if she were weird, why would you emphasize the similarity of her last name with the word plain? Wouldn't that signify that she is not weird? Besides, politics is a topic from which regular people participate solely by voting (and many times based on dishonest speeches). And if we cant control what politicians actually say or do, id say it would be nice for there to be some more interesting personalities involved. I miss Bush, he was basically an 8 year long sitcom.

Actually, it started as a minor typo, and then I decided to give emphasis to plain to point out my careless error since I found it to be humorous.
