I'm still flying the flag for Starfox.... and believe this IP really has a ton of potential.
A dream for me would be something on-rails/mission-based, perhaps with more open sections. I suppose something similar to the Armored Core 6 experience.... with similar levels of customisation for your ship, maybe some base building.
Probably cut out any 'on-foot' elements and keep it purely to ship-based gameplay.
I feel like most missed out on Obscure. It is like an RE survival horror set in high school but 2-player co-op and heavily relies on you and your partners actions. The first game was on the original X-box and then a sequel followed on Wii and PS2 in 2009. I loved it because every enemy was a big challenge. There were not many of them, so it was not just mindless shooting. If you saw something, you would do whatever you could to get away as chances of actually killing it were slim! It was really scary as it was a shock to come across a monster. It would require dozens and dozens of hits with your baseball bat (default weapon) if you were lucky and somehow got it trapped in a tight space, but mostly you would just run from it!
The music was epic as well, performed by a renowned French orchestra and choir.
Hunter had 3 games across Gamecube/PS2/Xbox. Bit of a Gauntlet Legends hack and slash game. 4 player co-op.
Well since this has gotten a resurgence might as well add something else to this thread and that is Spectrobes. A very interesting concept at the time (being able to fight alongside your monsters in ARPG battles in 2007? Yes please!) and did well enough to get a sequel on the DS and the Wii.
@Fiergala Is this the one that came out on gamecube? Where you chose a godzilla Kaiju and fought in a city trying to destroy each other and everything else?
