i think this thread is just an exscuse to make another random topic

Yeah I know durgh. Was just messing with the monkey, though it'd be funny if he checked this 2moro, and found masses of randomness. Oh well....

A random topic about anti-randomness?! Oh, the irony of it all.

I'm not against all of them, if they are humorous or have a point even if its kind of silly that's fine, but its the threads that contribute nothing but chasing some artificial record, or just plain have no point I find annoying, and its not a question of viewing them, the homepage only displays a limited number of the recent threads, and its a shame genuine threads are pushed out to make way for pointless nonsense, I don't have any problem if the nonsense has some sort of point to it, no matter how obscure, but some threads are just taking up space for the sake of it.

I understand the frustration from both sides - random topics are no good for those who come here to read more mature topics, whereas those who post in them see them as harmless fun.

For me personally - not as a mod, but as a poster - even one random topic is too much, but that's because I'm a grumpy curmudgeon.

I think it's funny that you're saying you don't like random threads, but you seem to think random weird videos are okay (seeing as you've made some yourself).

I like controlled amounts of random, and random that spawns from a topic with a point. I was quite disappointed to see that "The Random Things to Say Forum of Randomness" has been locked, as I quite enjoyed that one. But I haven't finished catching up on the last 200 posts, so maybe there's a good reason for it. shrug

I have to be careful watching Machu - thanks for the clarification though!

As for my views, I'd say random weird videos posted once are fine - random topics that exist to attract hundreds of other random posts aren't, in my eyes anyway.

I wasn't sure what he meant until I read post #22, talking about if "he checked this tomorrow morning." Seemed pretty clear to me then. Machu's free to come along and prove how very WRONG I am, though.

Yeah, I do think there have been way too many pointless random threads about lately...I was only really following the one. Still working on catching up to see where it went wrong as to be locked. I'd be happy with so real discussion around here if anybody can think of a topic! Haven't had a REALLY good debate since the AlexSays/NPC thread!

i guess that means i should delete 3 word story before i get in trouble i just wanted to let someone have a little fun i didn't mean to start this whole random thingie.. some of my stuff isn't even random i think 3WS is the only one others are actual questions like whats your favorite pizza and stuff its stuff some people just want to hear from others and what there opinions are on it. But i am sorry if i am one of the causes for this randomness to get out of hand.

@Tails86: No, don't delete that one! It's WAY too popular for that! Not that I ever went on it (by the time I'd heard of it, there were already hundreds of posts I didn't feel like wading through), but I know it's well-liked, and should be allowed to remain.

I just finished catching up with the previously mentioned thread, and I must say, I am NOT pleased with how it ended. There was no post saying WHY it had been locked, and nothing happened to make it especially need it! Somebody ruined our fun for no apparant reason! Booooo!

Planned randomness is not random.It is in fact ironic. A creator of a random thread agreed with what was said in an anti-random thread.That is ironic.If random thread=ironic thread then ironic thread=random thread. Tails86 turned this thread into an ironic thread.This is therefore a random thread. I'm sorry luigi78. I did all I could.

Back on topic one random thread is fine. A couple of random comments in a serious thread is fine.Anymore than that is completely unacceptable.

And I totally agree btw, has been a bit of a chore searching through the threads of late, I'd start some interesting ones but my threads tend to drop like a stone, ha. Aaaah gotta go.

I was in a 'video game retailer' today, tryin' to suss out this month's employees (they seem to have a high turn-over) while perusing Wii-goodness, and I thought... "I wish Prosody worked in this one, that'd be cool" ha.

Once I've figured out where you are and stalked tracked you for a week or so, I'll spring out of nowhere and we'll go for a pastie and a pint.

Only thing that gets me is the continuos post of New Threads that already exist. If your goin to post a Whats you favorite Mario Game" you should type that in and search for it cause it already exist and pull the thread up. Just my opinion.

I'm fairly certain I've given out enough information on these forums that the slightest bit of initiative could see you camping outside my front door tonight, holding a stack of family photos, my CV and anecdotes from every holiday I've ever had.
