Heck I must be lucky I met my wife of 5 years on World of Warcraft. Having a wife gamer can be a pain when we fight over the games or want to play different ones at the same time lol. So it has its ups and downs. =)
I wouldn't call my wife a gamer but she does enjoy playing the "quickie" games on mobile phones, and games like Uno, Monopoly, Bejeweled, Luxor, etc on various consoles. I can also recall her playing games like Mario Party, Mario Galaxy, and Zach and Wiki on the Wii.
She also plays Guild Wars when we both have spare time and can get on together.
I can honestly say that I have absolutely no romantic history (unless you count crushes ), but that's not due to me being a gamer - since I wasn't really one before last year. I don't even think I want a boyfriend at the moment. But if I got one, I can't imagine having one that didn't like me playing games. It kind of seems like more guys are cool with gaming than girls, though, so I don't see it being a problem.
I used to say that common ground in music was a necessity for me (I listen to a lot of "hipster" music), but since I've gotten older and grown out of the "cool kid" scene a bit, now common ground in video games is a must is I am going to date someone.
I will say though that Mario Kart is NOT a very good date game; Blue Shell typically equals no second date. :3
Finding a girl who likes games is hard... but I do have a friend who is a girl that plays a lot of Halo, she owns a DS and 360.
Only problem is, it's very hard to get in there with her, she's smexi, she's funny, she's a gamer and she's single... and that's the problem, she likes being single, as do I, but its always nice having a girlfriend to beat at Mario Kart.
