Hey peeps,

Was wondering the thoughts on gamers with girlfriends/boyfriends.

Do many people here have girlfriends/boyfriends, and if so, are they gaming savvy?

From personal experience, my girlfriend is not a gamer at all (excepting the odd bit of tetris or mario kart) and can get easily frustrated when I decide to pick up a game after reading a review here!

Please feel free to plug your site all you like in your signature. Thank you! — TBD

So thoughts- do you partners mind you gaming? If so , how do you get around it?

my last girlfriend hated games and in fact wanted me to give them up in the end. lol that was the final straw. Not because just of that but she was always mad if I took interest in anything that did not involve her. Just best to find one thats interested in them or usually they will bug you about it all the time. lol otherwise wait until she sleeps or is gone somewhere.

Hahaha, yeah it's always a bit tricky if partners make unreasonable demands on you. Compromising is the key to it. I actually put a funny little podcast on youtube on ways to make your girlfriend tolerate you playing pokemon.

You might be interested I'm not sure...

Here's the link anyway...

Haha.

Dude I think it's a regular technique. No joke, I put my girlfriend to sleep (go in and give her a cuddle, make sure she is asleep and then I get out of bed) and sneak in a couple of hours when I know I can't possibly be disrupted! Works a treat everytime!

Serious Navi time. (aint i funneh?)

I think the best way is to negotiate some way of playing games while your GF/BF does something that your not interested in. Allow time to be set aside for playing games, and time to do other things.

Yeah I get what you mean, I just found it funny when I first read it. I do the same too. I have a lot of hobbies/sports/social activites that I'm involved in, so late at night is usually the only time I can fit in a bit of gaming.

It's all about compromise, and getting your priorities right, whatever they are.

Or just wait for the Wii U and have your cake and eat it!

But then it's the whole, "you spending time on games when you could be spending time with me" thing.

True, just meant if they want to watch something on TV! they can't be hypocritical if you continue on your Wii U Controller.

Does dating the games count? I've been in a long-standing relationship with my Golden Sun cartridge. She was my first kiss, even.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

I use to have a girlfriend. D: That was like a year ago. been having dreams about it out of no where lately wasn't much of a gamer. She didn't seem to mind though. Haven't been able to find one since, but between school and scholarship work I use my free time for gaming. SO I'd rather seek out a new one later. Maybe mid way through the new school year.

@Swiket LOL!!!! man..uncalled for,but geez I needed that laugh.
