I think that we should have Nintendo games on lots more ports than just the nintendo consoles. I feel that they should bring their games to pc, xbox, playstation and more to access a larger market. The reason for this is if your like me you don't want to spend upwards of £300 just to get a console with not very many games on it so we have can play our beloved pokemon, legend of zelda, mario and more on our PC's, Xbox's and Playstation's

Sorry, no dice.
Nintendo's IP is Nintendo's IP.
There is a Copyright from them.
I don't even want to play Nintendo's IP on different machine.
My games just ONLY on Nintendo machines, with some 3rd party games on different machines. But, I would like to play All of them on Just Nintendo machine.

PC ? Nah ! I don't care with powerful specs at all, nor even care about installation. Too complicated and too risky for my PC Lifespan.
Playstation? Nah ! Now i'm against that pesky machine that destroying a whole Japanese gaming market.
Xbox ?! Seriously ?! (Laughed with sarcasm) What is Xbox doing ? A Clown / Cheerleader of the Competition between Nintendo and Sony ? Just Shooo ! Get over from the Competition !

Have you never heard of exclusives? You know, the ones that make a console actually stand out from the competition and worth buying because of? Heck, if they were to port all of their exclusives to rival systems, why not stop making consoles altogether? The purpose of having them would be certainly gone then. Seriously, if you are so desperate yet cheap to play these grand games, I'm sure you'll find a workaround or two somewhere. But remember if you're heading that advice, you'll spit right in Nintendo's face and at their games you claim to like. I'm not trying to sound insulting here but even thinking of such a ridiculous concept is baffeling to me and the idea of bringing it up here on a Nintendo site just feels ... you really do think this is a good idea, don't you?

That basically boils down to "I want to play all these great Nintendo games, but I don't want to have to buy a Nintendo console", and that argument doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Exclusives aren't going anywhere. It would make zero financial sense for Nintendo to make their exclusives available on rival consoles, in the same way that the Switch isn't going to be getting Halo or Uncharted.

@Anti-Matter What I said was just my opinion it's your own right to disagree with me however on pc Nintendo could add their games on steam or make their own safe drm with a little bit of effort to make the downloads of their games risk free.

@crimsontadpoles I agree with you in a sense that mostly I don't loads of consoles lying around my house. Also it would make financial sense as there is more money to be made with a larger market, for example there are 48 million Xbox live accounts and upwards of 110 million Playstation accounts. Also the other part of my argument is that emulation tends optimized very poorly for example my PC has better specs than the nintendo switch yet through emulation my computer barely runs legend of zelda breath of the wild.

Ah...
Better you buy Official Nintendo products if you really loves Zelda and Nintendo games.
Playing them by Emulator on pc is not a good idea.

@GoldenGamer88 You make a very valid point however Nintendo was founded on the 23rd of September 1889 however not once has any had any of these excellent works of code too good to be classified as games anywhere but Nintendo consoles. One solution to the problem you pointing out would to be only port some of the games from any given franchise (Legend of Zelda for example) to other consoles/PC's so you wouldn't be able to access all of the games on other devices yet you would be able to access all of them on Nintendo consoles. Or maybe they could have some addition content on the versions of the games for Nintendo consoles which aren't on other consoles, such as (using Legend of Zelda for an example here) having extra heart pieces more side quests or maybe having the option to get a bigger wallet. Also to increase profit they could make it so you have to buy a deluxe addition to get things you are missing out on, on the other consoles. Also I don't intend to insult anyone but having a broader market is never a bad idea.

@GoldenGamer88 Also I emulate alot of the games on Nintendo and they are brilliant I love the work they do it is up to them if they want to do this or not I simply started this as an idea i'm not trying to force anyone to do anything i'm just trying to get my voice heard

@Anti-Matter I don't emulate every game they have infact on my 3ds I have played pokemon heart gold all the way through atleast 10 times and pokemon sun through twice also I have legend of zelda skyward sword and twilight princess on my wii. I have only ever emulated legend of zelda wind waker and minish cap

@itsyoboi73 I see no purpose in continuing this discussion so I'mma just leave you with this: Emulating games no matter how primitive or old they are, is wrong and illegal. I don't know how you're thinking about this and I don't condemn you for doing what you're doing. Just know that you're having to live your whole life knowing that you are holding money away from Nintendo, money they have rightfully earned by making games you apparently like quite a bunch. You're showing them absolutely no respect for all that they have done over the decades. Again, I don't mean to insult but such behavior sickens me to my core. With that said, I wish a good day.

@GoldenGamer88 emulation is not illegal under the correct circumstances and there are some sick butts who do it illegally however I don't so therefore I am not breaking any laws

Any exclusive that Nintendo releases on other consoles will be one less reason for me to pick up a Switch. As long as Nintendo remains in the console market, it wouldn't make sense for them to reduce their console sales by giving their exclusives away.

If Nintendo released all their new games on PS4 as well as a Switch, then I would not buy a Switch. Since this isn't the case, I'll likely get a Switch eventually so I can play the likes of Pokemon and Mario and Zelda.

Sure it would be better for me if I could just buy one console that can play every game, but it won't happen since it doesn't make any sense for businesses to make their games available on rival platforms.

Edit: As for the sticky matter of emulation, I'm not keen on it since the developers won't be getting any money from the game they created. If they spend a lot of time and money to make a game, then it's fair to pay them for it.

@itsyoboi73 Nintendo can't go third party. It would be counter productive to their current business model. It's very naïve to think they can carry on as they are AND release games on other systems. Nintendo have r&d departments for hardware and software. It is in their interest for people to buy their consoles. They can control their IP (an artists dream!!) and they get a cut of every game sold (a business man's dream!!). Third parties go multi plat because their sole source of revenue can reach more wallets. Microsoft put their games on pc because Mr Gates want people to buy Windows. So...you need to appreciate the competitive business side of gaming...not just the ' Mario is cool' side.

I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.

Have you got a job ?
Earn some money, buy the official products and you can be proud to support your lovely franchises.

To tell to you, I have ever owned illegal modded ps1, ps2, wii, nds with flashcart long time ago before my first experience bought Original copies of 3DS games and 3DS XL for the first time, and since then it changed my mindset forever. I felt so proud can support Nintendo by buy their products in right way. Since then, I removed ALL my pirated things, start again from ZERO and guess what ? From year 2014 until now 2017, I have collected 15 Original Wii games, 24 Original NDS games, 7 Original Wii U games, 3 Original Gamecube games , 6 Switch games and don't forget my 3DS games that already 30 copies. I obtained the games from my salary, I ordered them by help of my friend. For 3DS, WII U and Switch games, I trust my game shop owner at my place to provide the games I need.
It takes a lot of efforts, patiences and money. I enjoy to collect them since then and I don't think play them on pc is a good idea. First, pc consumes more Watts while on Nintendo machines, it consumes lesser Watts. And for portable games such as NDS / 3DS / GBA, Why the heck I play them on pc ? It just made them become Not Portable and I don't want to play those portable games on pc nor on laptop. Wrong machines. Even you said it will look better with emulation on pc, who cares ? I just don't want to play in illegal way like that.

Once again, if you really really love Nintendo, at least show your real support by buy their products.

@crimsontadpoles you make a very valid point. However that idea that the sales of consoles might drop could also lead to an increase in great innovations coming from Nintendo to make people want to buy their respective console over a ps4 or an xbox one which would come to an overall benefit
