So I held off on registering all my games that i owned last year in hopes that this year would have even better rewards. So over the past year i went all the wway up to platinum status registering every single game i owned for my nintendo consoles. So when the club ninty told me i could get rewards for being platinum I was thinking "Hmmm, i can't wait, the mario hat and the punch out thing from last year were some good ideas" then i get there this year and see the platinum reward is mario figurines....for real?
What is that?! Those could pass off for 400 coin prizes, not the platinum reward. I have it ordered since I can't let my status go to waste, but since i know it will reset for next year i must say i am fairly let down by nintendo, the gold reward of a calendar was not much better at all. Anyone else think this year's rewards pale in comparison to previous years?
Yup, more of a kick in the nuts unless you get platinum. I had that level last year, and I'm furious it went from unwearable display hat to this as I could use it on my work desk. I'm FURIOUS that Amazon screwed me and didn't get me S&P2 on time as they cost me platinum by 30 points so now I get the trashy calendar too.

I like the figurine. That's about all I'd really hope for from a "free" gift anyway...though I admit I wish we had a choice between two items like we did last year.

Agreed.
@metakirbyknight Pretty much. I thought u were going to get the figure, but couldn't because u are moving, right?
This year wasn't that bad. I'm a collector of this kind of stuff, so the figurine was a nice little thing. The main letdown are the normal prizes though. the posters are good, but folders and stationarys? wtf?
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.

Yeah...I reeeeeeally want those little stuffed Pikmin. :/ I bought the poster sets, but I'm foolishly holding onto the rest of my coins in the hopes that we eventually get them.

I doubt those will come over but I just spent all of my points on the deck of mario cards. I'm broke, but have about 100 coins from surverys, and with all of the games from E3 coming out, I can get about 500 coins easy and get platnium again if im lucky. Plenty of coins for maybe some cool kirby or mario stuff

If you ever happen to get to the Nintendo Store in NYC they sell those Pikmin dolls. I wouldn't count on Club Nintendo for them yo.
I'm very letdown. I got Gold the first year and got the stupid calendar, because they only gave us like 6 months to reach Platinum status that year. If they would have given us 12 months I would have reached Platinum easily and been able to get a Platinum reward. This year I got Platinum hoping for prizes as good as last year's, but I feel as gutted by how bad this year's rewards are as I felt for missing last year's. My first choice last year would have been Doc Louis's Punch-Out, which beats this year's dust collector of a Platinum reward by a long shot. My second choice last year would have been the Mario hat, which also beats this year's slap-in-the-face option to downgrade to the lame Gold reward calendar by a long shot.
@metakirbyknight: Yea, if you have a choice, yes, you are most likely the only one. If you are Platinum and want a calendar, why not get the figure and trade someone here that got Gold for their calendar? Win, win, someone else gets to not be mad they fell short.

I personally think the items are cool. I mean i still have my Mario Hat from last year and I'm getting the figurine. My girlfriend wanted the calender but she just recently got a wii and doesn't really have Alot of money. So she Atleast got something cool she wanted. Otherwise though i'm not upset. But remember this is American Nintendo. They i don't think will want to give something little kids have never heard about. Think about it. If we some how got the Super Famicom Controller alot of people wouldn't know about it. As there are so many casual gamers out there. They probably wouldn't do anything with it. (like me of course but i'm a hardcore player.) But anyway yeah I think it wasn't too bad a year for me.

@Tails: I believe Club Nintendo primarily targets the core demographic, the Gold and Platinum rewards require you to have spent quite a good deal of money on Nintendo 1st party products. That being said, I think that those are the same people that have been Nintendo fans all their lives, so I don't think an SNES controller would be unknown to most people especially since there are SNES games on VC.

Kirby: If you want the calendar you can have mine when I get it and if what I saw was right that you get the statue thing I will gladly trade you for it. I'll make the trade, but I won't send it for free. Same goes for anyone else who would consider such a thing. I want it for my work desk but as my other post said I got screwed out of it by Amazon being lame on shipping.

@Dragoon: I'd be content with not playing with the statue. The statue does look similar to the mini figures, well, the Luigi one definitely and maybe Goomba, but I have looked around online and unless those mini figures are posable, they're mostly, with the exception of Luigi and maybe Goomba, not the same molds as existing figures and possibly not be made of the same material since it looks a lot cooler on the CN website compared to somewhat similar packaged mini figures. I still think its a cool reward, especially if you take into account that if they were the same figures, it'd cost you probably $50 minimum to collect all of them and you wouldn't necessarily have the props or the base to stand them on. I'm pretty sure I also read that it would be shipping with a special display case when I redeemed mine since I didn't notice anyone mentioning it.
