John romero and john carmack (the creaters of wolfenstine 3d and quake) are some of the most legendary in gameing, but the two were very different. Carmack was all about making the game awsome and he was the first person to make side scrolling work for the pc, but Romero was all about the story, the vision, and the the ideas of the game. Soon after their big hits the two seperated and Romaro made his own company. For those who don't know the rest of the story and wondering who was better, just look up the game diakatana and then look up quake 2 and see.,but i'm not saying carmack or john are worse or better than one another. What i'm trying to ask is who do you think had the better idea of games? Do you think that john Romero had the right idea about gaming, that the main focus should be the story and how the game flows, or was carmack right when he thought that the games should be improved and that the fighting and the tech are the best parts?
id Software was never the same since Romero's departure. id Software was a body which slowly disintegrated because he was one of the organs ... and you cannot revitalize a dead body with a new chapter of DOOM or Wolfenstein, sorry.
