I can sincerely say that Jobs contributed to the world one of the best companies ever. Innovative, on the edge, and always ready to come out with something new, no wonder Apple is the most valuable company, financially speaking, in the world (I think). He will be remembered, no doubt about it.

Wow. Did not see this one coming. I was actually talking with one of my friends today about how I felt Apple would not be doing as well in a few years, and this has got to be a big blow to them as well. RIP.
It's such a gray day outside where I'm at (SF Bay Area). It just started raining here a couple of days back. Before that, it was sunny and unpleasantly hot for the last few months.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
Obviously not a total surprise given his failing health, but always horrible to see someone pass at such a relatively young age. While i was never personally a big fan, he undoubtedly was a game-changer and has forever left his mark — for the better — on the consumer electronics and computer industry.
I am gravely shocked. I'm stunned really. I knew that Steve Jobs was going to die but I did not know or realize that it would be so very soon. This was too soon. I have always been a fan of Pixar, Disney, Lucasfilm and Apple Inc all of which are interconnected as Steven Jobs inherited Pixar from George Lucas and Steven Jobs was a member of the Disney Executive Board.
I'm really puzzled as to why Steve Jobs was so very secretive with his health because it is almost as if he knew something that we didn't know. I really loved and admired Steve Jobs as person, innovator, genius and futurist because he was the modern Thomas Edison of our time. Steve Jobs shall be greatly missed. Rest in Peace Steve Jobs. May God bless Apple Inc.

it's not really a shock as he was battling pancreatic cancer and for him to stand down was a sign it wasn't going well. i always felt the woz was the brains of it all, but jobs was a genius at pr. he really was.
Even though I was never a fan of Apple products, it's still sad to see a prominent figure of any industry just vanish. I hope that wherever he's gone, it's a nice place.

You know, I'm usually pretty cynical and detached about celebrity deaths, and often can't fathom how all these people who only knew the deceased through television suddenly act as if they've lost a friend.
However,
This time I do feel a great loss, and somehow the entire industry around technology feels a bit emptier now. Steve Jobs understood the interconnection of tech and design better than anyone, and we might still be stuck with horrible, angular, equipment full of bad user-interace concepts if he hadn't shown that there's another way. He's was always up there with Miyamoto in my eyes, one of those people who understood something about tech that no one else could quite grasp.
