Best: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX I didn't have any idea what the Zelda franchise was about, I didn't even know it was a franchise, I just liked the box art.
Worst: Pop Just wanted to get something the day WiiWare launched. Broken gameplay.

@Roo: What, the Sega Saturn is fantastic! I... kinda impulse bought mine, back when it was still in the swing of things. I actually asked for a Game Gear and my parents brought back a Saturn. No biggie. Games are hard to find now, but there are loads of classic titles. NiGHTS Into Dreams, Guardian Heroes, Panzer Dragon/Zwei/Saga, Grandia, Sonic 3D Blast (better than anything out now certainly!), Sonic Jam (probably the best Sonic collection out there), Saturn Bomberman, Mega Man 8, House of the Dead, Albert Odyssey, Blazing Dragons, Burning Rangers, D, Daytona USA, Sega Rally Championship, Dragon Force, Radiant Silvergun, Enemy Zero, Shining Force III, Shining Wisdom, Shining the Holy Ark, Virtual On, Virtua Cop 2... Darn, too many to list.
Best: My PS1 which I got for $25 on ebay and it came bundled with Chrono Cross. Used FFIX Black Label copy that I found for $25 in near mint condition Used Metal Gear Solid Black Label that I found for $20 in neat mint condition Brand new copy of Final Fantasy Anthology that I got on ebay for $20. I think I have been lucky when it comes to my PS1 and finding good games available for reasonable prices when I wasn't even looking for that game at the time. (granted all the games were on my eventual to get list, but I wasn't planning on purchasing any of them at the time I actually did, hence the impulse part. Hard to pass up a good deal.)
Worst: Madden 10 Wii. Not a bad football game actually... But I played it for about a week then haven't touched it since... I'm not really into sports games so I have no idea what I was thinking buying it at full retail. And it didn't help that the mode where you play through the career of a single player has a broken camera.
Worst purchase ever: Shadow the Hedgehog. Need I say any more? Paid $80 for it, and maybe played it for 30 minutes before deciding it was not worthy of my time...
I never buy things by impulse anymore, I got so many crap games. But anyway, sorting through it all, the worst may have been... Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (DS), Ice Age 2: The Meltdown (DS) or Uno 52 (DS). Best: Possibly King Kong (thank god I got the GC version instead of DS), Star Wars: Episode III (DS), or WarioLand: Shake It.

Best: Harvest Moon 64 (i actually didnt wanted it cuz it looked girly, but my mom insisted for some reason! i ended up loving it!) Worst: The sims 3 (my computer cant play it FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-)
Worst: Madworld, played the 1st 3 levels, haven't touched it since. Best: Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast. I was a Nintendo fan & thus never played Sonic, I originally didn't want to buy this game, but on impulse got it anyway, & loved it. Too bad everything that came after wasn't anywhere near as good.
Flandre Scarlet, she's cute, she's colorful, she can blow up entire cities, she's also a vampire. Start running sparklepants.
