I have a condition that pretty much makes it so I can't get depressed even when my life is at its worst.
Try having your brain know you're depressed and not having the ability to cope or understand it.

No, my life is absolutely perfect and nothing bad ever happens to me. Of course bad things happen. For instance I broke the headpiece on my favorite Gundam Model, and the superglue dried out. There was still some in the end though, so I poked it with a nail and ended up getting a cut.

I also decided to look online to see if I could find the 1/100th scale version that wouldn't have such tiny pieces for me to break, and it was sold out everywhere except for eBay, where it cost $64 + $20 shipping and handling. Obviously I can't afford that.

Then I went to the grocery store and they were out of my favorite juice, so I got another juice and it tastes pretty bad. It's supposed to taste like strawberry, but there's no strawberry in it. WTF. Why even mention strawberry in the name if it has no strawberry?

Yeah, none of that is earth ending, but still, $#!+ happens.

i'm so sorry about this, k_c. i hope it all works out for your mom. it's a tough time for the whole family. be gentle with each other and yourself. take each day and each crisis as it comes, try to not project into the future, and sometimes just put your head down and tackle what needs doing.
