There is a tree in our front yard and it has these little things that fall off when it rains.
Here's some pictures.

Our dogs keep trying to eat them and my sister thinks they're poisonous.
So, is she right or are they harmless?

Slapshot

Definately looks like some type of Fungus... I would try to keep my dogs away from that one.

Aw jeez.
Well at least I know for sure what it is and whether to keep them away from it or not.

I never saw those things before. And why is there a crescent moon-shaped like object on top of the orangey stuff?

To each their own

Okay, it looks like Cedar Apple Rust, but in those pictures I don't see that big brown been-looking thing, just the yellow tentacles.

I don't know what that is, but it reminds me of that crystallized fuel gel from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption...

@Raylax: Metal Slug FTW...

Macaronius

They're most likely a species of fungi.
I'll have to do a little bit more research before I make that assumption though.

EDIT: That "bean-like" mass of pure evil is most likely a species of fungus, but that's just a hypothesis.
The web-like pattern on "the bean" is simlar to the way many species of fungi form.

DOUBLY EDIT: I wouldn't let your dog eat them, many species of fungi are lethal if consumed.

It's a parasitic fungus, but as far as I know it's only hazardous to plants. Can't be too safe though

No, sadly it wasn't me. I didn't even know about it until Star Fox pointed it out. It's pretty cool seeing my NL name on Strong Bad!

Seriously you don't need to do research. Three posts above yours holds the answer.
Am I invisible or something?

That thing looks cool. I would take it to a science lab somewhere, then ask if it's edible. What trees do they grow on because I've never seen that.
