Curious if anyone here has read any of Sir Terry Pratchett's books or seen any of his movies. If not, they are all fantastic and really should be read/watched!

Me, me and me. I unabashedly adore his writings, most especially the Discworld series. He brings his own twisted sense of humour in all his works, which satisfies the average reader. I myself am an avid reader, so you can imagine the amount of his Discworld series I've read. I read them mostly at a younger age than I'm supposed to, I find some sort of joy in it.

His Discworld series aimed at children (The Wee Free Men, A Hat Full of Sky and The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents) I read when I was 6. One of his books in the series aimed at young adults, Thud, I read when I was midway at 12. ...Erm, I'm yet to pass that age, actually.

I love the Discworld series! It's been years since I read any of them. I've been wanting to re-read them for a while now, but there are so many in the series and I have lots of other books to read lol.

Did any of you play the Discworld games? Discworld Noir was really great.

I love this guy and have been a fan of Discworld since forever . Light Fantastic is one of the best books I've ever read.

I've read a few. Mort and Soul Music being my favorites. Great humour in those books and the social satire is great. Such a shame to see Terry Pratchett suffering at the moment (he is suffering from a rare form of Alzheimer's) He made a great documentary about it for the BBC, and it seems it won't stop him writing. Seems like a really genuine ,nice guy.

What's this bit for again?

I red the first three discworld novels several years ago. They were very well written.

I've read Mort and The Reaper a while back. They were pretty funny and well-written books. A lot of my friends are very big into the Discworld series.

I've only read the first one in the series, but it was enough to get me hooked. Haven't had the time to read others... Reminded me slightly of Douglas Adams' Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Good humour.

Sorry for the late post in the thread as I've been quite busy lately. I'm glad to see some fan here! I've read a number of his book myself, and I think he is a complete genius in social satire being formed into fantasy. For many I think his writing style is quite complex and I'm really impressed with you Phobos enjoying his books at such a young age.

I stumbled upon The Colour of Magic on Netflix recently as a instant to watch movie, so if any of you have Netflix, do check it out. Also his movie Hogfather is available to rent as well. I HIGHLY recommend you guys watching them as they are perfect recreations of the books, and Terry Pratchett himself is in one of them. Also, Amazon will net you both movies on DVD cheaply as well.

I wasnt much of a book-guy until I picked up Colour of Magic. For some reason it appealed to me in the middle of other fantasy books back in that library. I was immediately hooked on to the series and I've been buying Discworld books every now and then. Good stuff. Moving Pictures was my favorite, probably because of all the movie references.

Movies were pretty good too. As well as the games (Discworld Noir is excellent). There's also the online MUD which is definitely worth checking out If you're a Discworld fan. Its been going on for years and there's still plenty of people playing it.

The Discworld series definetely reintroduced me to reading 3 years ago. Since then I own most of them, though I only read around 10 of them . Rincewind is my favorite character, he's so funny !

I love Discworld, but I've only read two of them. I really need to get back into them, I've actually got about 15 of them on my bookshelf, so xD
I have a lot of books

Hear hear! Book collecting club GO!

You know, I've never actually read The Colour of Magic. I could never find it in stores. Maybe I'll return to the series with the first one, if I can find it.

My friend has all or nearly all of them... I have personally only read one, but I have too many other books to read... Also, I remember checking out one of the Discworld adventure game at one point. I should check them out again since I just finished with Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy (the game).
