@Rocko52 when was the Durarara sequel coming out? The first season of Durarara ends nicely but there's a really big plot point which it doesn't resolve (and a few small ones I guess). It's a lot of fun though! I'm sure you'd enjoy it.

Also, the Alabasta arc in One Piece is the desert arc, right? I think that's actually where I gave up on the series lol

I watched the 4Kids dub though, that's probably why. I also kept missing episodes so the continuity started getting lost on me

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

@Jollykarp

Well if you only watched the 4kids episodes and missed a bunch, it would make sense why you'd give up on One Piece! I'd recommend giving it another try, either in Japanese (as I watch it now) or with the Funimation Dub (Which I started with). Both options have great actors and I still look up scenes from the dub from time to time. I see both the Funi Cast and the Japanese Cast as the Straw Hats, both voice sets are just so memorable.

That said, if you truly think you won't enjoy it, I'm not forcing you to. But it's definitely become my favorite anime of all time, and has a whole lot going for it, so if you tried it in its original format, you might like it better. I know a lot of people say they disliked the first bunch of One Piece Arcs, but honestly, I wouldn't keep watching something to wait for it to get good, I liked it a lot from the start, and each passing arc it got better. I think it was either the Syrup Village or Baratie Arc where I went, "Wow this is great," but Arlong Park truly amazed me. So if you give it a shot, I think you'll like it. But if you aren't finding yourself enjoying it by Arlong Park, I wouldn't bother with the rest of it, honestly. Honestly though, I doubt you won't like it, but it is all taste I suppose.

Seems Durarara is on Crunchyroll, nice! Same with Log Horizon! Psycho-Pass is on Hulu, but that's not a big deal. And here's the announcement from March:

So I stumbled upon this upcoming web comic/manga series, Lumina.
http://www.worldoflumina.com/en/#
It's in Italian so everything's translated to English which means it's kinda rough and awkward at times. The art, however, is beautiful. Their goal is to create a world that's bright and attractive and I think they succeeded. The plot sounds good and the character designs are sweet. They're still hoping to crowdfund it I think.
I won't be donating, I can't even afford MK8 yet, but I hope they make it. I wouldn't mind to see where it goes even if just to see more of that style.
EDIT: oh, the campaign actually ends at 9 this morning.
EDIT 2: Oh no wait, it's gonna be an actual comic, not a web comic. My bad

That looks really impressive! Gorgeous art right there. I also just finished the 5th One Piece Special, Episode of Nami - Tears of a Navigator and the Bonds of Friendship, which was absolutely fantastic.

Toonami Saturday night!

Attack on Titan - Missed it.

Bleach - Missed it.

Space Dandy - Missed first half. What I did see was totally surreal, and what I've come to expect from this show (in a good way).

Naruto Shippuden - Intense puppet battle action! Which, was kinda cool.

One Piece - Pretty good episode. Mostly some reflection & prep, but trying to get the train on the tracks was kind of cool.

Blue Exorcist - Absolutely fantastic fight scene tonight (it's something this series is really starting to excel at)! Aaaand, the cat's out of the bag, uh oh...

Black Lagoon - First Nazis, then a Columbian drug cartel, and now Jihadist terrorists. These guys can't catch a break...

Also, they showed the first promo for their Invasion II event they're having next year. Looks cool.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Whoa, hold it hold it! Yoko Kanno composed the third opening for CCS? Space Dandy ED song and Arakawa Under the Bridge OP Yoko Kanno? Wow, I love this women. I can't believe I'm only now realizing this.
Speaking of the OP, I find it really funny the first OP for CCS was dubbed into Spanish but when they changed songs they left them in Japanese. Huh, guess they couldn't afford to dub the other two? I'm not complaining, Platinum is an incredible song.
On episode 56 now of my rewatch! Started taking it slow, I'm having a lot of fun with the show and it's sad to see it coming to an end again.. At least there's still two movies!

^Dude, she's one of the best composers out there. She did Cowboy Bebop, Kids on the Slope, Vision of Escaflowne, and Turn A Gundam, among many others.

As for contrasting shows, Kill La Kill is an obvious one, but I'm not sure what else...

Just an update, I'm good on the other kind of shows, but I'm still trying to think of more of the other kind. I decided to loosen the requirements a little (older is allowed now), and Gravion, Overman King Gainer, and Dai-Guard have been added to the list. I still need two more, though...

I just watched most Space Dandy episodes over again, this time the sub, in order to prepare for Season 2 of it. It's rare for me, but I think I actually prefer the dub... But both are great and I think they each do justice to the characters.

Anyways, I recently got into watching JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, thanks to my sibling. I've caught up with the episodes and while I know very little about JJBA in general, what I have seen so far is fantastic. It's got such an odd mix between being cool and being stupid, but I love how it doesn't take itself seriously anyways. Very fun to watch, however if only the violence and smoking didnt have to be censored in painfully obvious ways for the TV release... Regardless I am loving this show. I should read/watch more JJBA in the future...

I've also just now started Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, so far I'm on episode 3. Not much to say at this point, but I'm lovin' it. It's interesting to see how obviously influenced by American cartoons like Powerpuff Girls it is, yet of course with all the innuendo and vulgarity.

Cool. My friend likes World Trigger.

Re-watching Ef: A Fairy Tale of the Two, and is one of the best romance anime I have every seen. The animation is very well done, music is terrific and it fits well when things need to get serious, characters range from great - average. I highly recommend this show if you're looking for a slice of life show to enjoy.

I'll just put this.

TWGOK got me to say "feels" several times. That's how good it is. That should be impossible.

I love this series so much. I know I keep talking about this series but I care too much. It's too good ;__;

Finally remembered Xabungle was a Tomino mecha show (and one of the few I have yet to see) so I decided to start that. I'm only 7 episodes in, but it's been surprisingly entertaining so far. I mean, I know I have yet to experience a Tomino show I didn't like, but I didn't expect much from a "light-hearted" Mecha show, especially since the last one few I saw weren't very good (beginning of ZZ Gundam and Majestic Prince), but this one nails it. The comedy tends to be funny without being out of place or overbearing, the characters are largely likeable and distinct, and the story itself has enough serious themes and moments to give it weight so it doesn't just feel like a bunch of random silliness. Plus the action's great and I love the mecha designs. You can tell BattleTech ripped quite a few of these machines from Xabungle, and they even have Mechwarrior 2's favorite death animation, where the legs keeps going after the top's blown off.

Just thought I'd mention that Lumina comic I mentioned earlier actually exceeded it's funding, so it's happening! I might have to pick up a copy when it's finished.
Speaking of anime inspired web comics, anyone read/heard of Blaster Nation? I stumbled upon this today and the first comic I read of it was pretty funny. For some reason the site's main page was in my history, which is how I found it today, but I've never visited the site before.

The last anime I've finished was Magi: the Labyrinth/Kingdom of Magic, I haven't been so invested in an anime for the longest time, literally wanting to watch the next episode to see what would happen next. The animation quality stays good and consistent and occasionally does something flat out amazing in some scenes. Sadly the current series ended a bit open-ended and season 3 hasn't been announced yet, so I'm kind of considering just continuing off from the manga. My only real complaint about it is one of the main character's obsession with breasts, but then again, it's Japan.

Other than that, I've been watching Mekakucity Actors, the story of which hasn't developed enough imo to give a good opinion on it. It and it's source material the Kagerou Project are interesting enough to keep my interest though.

But does anyone have any anime recommendations ? I'm willing to give anything a try.
