So, is Black Lagoon sort of like a present day themed Cowboy Bebop?
Sure, they're mercenaries rather than bounty hunters, but the general gist seems to be about the various jobs they get caught up in as they travel around the ocean in their ship (the Black Lagoon), so it kind of sounds like a similar premise, just not in space.
If so, that sounds like something I could get into, and even if not, it'll be a nice change of pace from all the fantasy based fare that dominates most of Toonami's premiering lineup.
Everything's like Cowboy Bebop. And yet, nothing is like it either.
Black Lagoon is definitely worth watching. Many of the scenarios are entertaining and are presented really well.

Up to episode 80 in my Naruto Rewatch...well, now I'm past the point that I watched up to before (75 I think). Anyways, it's been really good, especially in this arc. Might give the show a rest after this next episode, though.
This show is really good at showing emotion and making its villains relateable (so far at least), while also having some intense and even mentally-stimulating fights. I still wouldn't put it among my favorite Shounen anime, though, since it drives a few points too hard, and it's not very good at making the slower parts very interesting. Also, it has a terrible sense of humor most of the time, and it revels in itself too much (HEY YOU SEE WHAT HE JUST DID?! THAT WAS AWESOME! THAT WAS BRILLIANT! THAT WAS UNEXPECTED! DIDN'T YOU THINK THAT WAS COOL?! NO?!! WELL LET ME EXPLAIN IT TO YOU IN EXCRUTIATING DETAIL IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT SCENE SO YOU KNOW JUST WHY IT'S AWESOME!!!).
Catching up on Kill la Kill. I've seen up to episode 6 now. The member of the Elite Four in this episode really reminded me of Henry and Terriormon a lot. The show's fight scenes are amazing. It's starting to get pretty interesting with the characters too.
Wasn't sure where to put this, but here's a good a place as any. I just got linked to a Bump of Chicken/Hatsune Miku collab. So that's J-rock with vocaloid. Not quite sure how to feel about this...
Miku definitely sounds odd when singing the blues notes though.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
Oh yeah, I think it's worth mentioning that Black Lagoon's English dub if fantastic. The combination of mostly western settings and mostly western characters works really well for English. I'm kind of surprised Toonami's willing to air it, though, if only because it's pretty much the most profane anime I've ever seen. A-bombs, s-bombs, f-bombs, c-bombs... the whole gambit's there. I guess it's the time slot that does it.

@moomoo they let Blue Exorcist swears slide without censoring. I wonder if they have something similar to what Comedy central has if they air something late enough they wont have to bleep certain words.

Actually, episode 6 was brilliant now that I think about it. Yes, over the top action is the name of the game but I wouldn't call it mindless after this. [mild Spoilers incoming] The villain Matoi had to fight in this episode was defeated right away. HE had to grow and improve to defeat her. We got backstory on him too while he developed as a threat. Plus they had a rematch in the same episode rather than 20 later. [Mild spoilers end]
Looking forward to watching more now. I really feel like catching up on this much more than finishing Shana lll. Which is a shame.
@Retro_on_theGo hmm, I didn't think about it that way. That's actually a pretty cool way of looking at it! Especially since now, that makes Kiryuin more sympathetic too. I'm up to date with the other stuff I'm following now, so I might resume Kill la Kill while I'm at it.

Although I've never seen Kill La Kill, I have seen a gif with some one-eye girl bleeding profoundly from her eye. I'll assume it's kinda of a gruesome-comedic kind of anime with plot? Anyone care to give me a summary. I'm going to sleep now.

Auugh! The night I decide to start cruising YouTube for anime movies again, just happens to be the night it wants to act up...
I was halfway through Metal Skin Panic: Madox 01, when all of a sudden I got kicked out of the app because somehow I was signed out of Xbox Live Gold. Of course, I automatically signed back in after leaving the app, but the same thing happened again when I tried going back into YouTube.
I restarted the system, but now I can't even sign into Xbox Live at all, and the system UI is very laggy (though it's been doing that all night). I can only assume there's some sort of problem on MS's side, since my 3DS is having no issues connecting to the internet. I'll try back in an hour or so.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Well, the 360 still isn't working, so I'll give it a rest for the night...
It took an unusually long time to start up, and when it did, the message "Xbox Live content can't currently be accessed" popped up. And again, the UI was extremely laggy too.
Hopefully they get this worked out by tomorrow night, because I still want to watch InuYasha after all the Toonami shows I watch are over (then again, with Toonami dropping the show, and now Xbox Live not working, it seems as if there's some force out there trying to keep me from finishing it out, lol).

it is one of those silly action series, except a bit more self-aware and far more silly by being entirely serious
ok Jojolion(jojo part 8) goes beyond bizarre I mean this time jojo has 4 "spheric man parts"(that , so far, they aren't shown but they talk so much about it that it's gross)
I don't know if I want to keep reading....

I'm completely caught up in Kill la Kill. (episode 22) Only two weeks left! This show is really awesomely stupidly amazingly cool!
Also, I stopped watching Soul Eater back a month or two (maybe more even) ago, and coincidentally, where I stopped was right where the anime starts to diverge from the manga. In that case, I'm wondering whether or not I should even start watching it again, or just start to read it. Then again I could hold out for a Brotherhood-style remake. I mean, they are making Soul Eater NOT! which I also plan to watch.
Anime watching: Mobile Suit Gundam, Lupin III, & Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable
Reading: The Golden Compass
I got the DVD box set of the original FMA! It's missing the last 2 DVD, which contain the last 8 episodes, but I don't care!(actually i do care a little)
Naruto Shippuden - About the same as last week. Not bad, but nothing to get really excited over either...
One Piece! - Action was pretty good, but man did they get their butts whipped, lol. Can't wait to see how they get out of this one.
Blue Exorcist - They stayed away from some of the more sensitive subject matter, and it was a really great episode! They dealt with the threat in a bit of an unexpected way as well.
Soul Eater - The action in this one was absolutely awesome, even if some a certain attack was completely random, and the "power" they used to win would be right at home in the next Kingdom Hearts game, lol. The show was a fun ride, with mostly likable/memorable characters & great action scenes, so it will be missed.
They showed their first promo for Black Lagoon tonight, and it looks awesome! Can't wait for next week.
Well, I'll probably hit up YouTube in a bit to watch the next InuYasha (if my 360 is working tonight, lol).
