The latest Kill la Kill episode, just... oh my god...

Why do people point to their wrists when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

Will there be a second season? Is the manga still ongoing?

@Gus - The other two who were watching that will probably be pleased by that.

I really hope Samurai Flamenco and Kill La Kill end soon, I really want to marathon them.

Hey CanisWolfred, when you mentioned One Piece withdrawal, are you just waiting for the current arc to finish so you can marathon it?

Also, what was said earlier about Harlock and Yamato, which versions of each series would you all consider to be the most important/best/most worth watching?

Yeah, this show doesn't lend itself well to weekly viewing, what with the constant cliffhangers...

And I'd say Yamato 2199 is the best version of that series yet, since it really improves damn near everything without changing what worked much at all. As for Harlock, the original's still the best, IMO. Unlike the original Yamato, which suffered from some fairly cheap animation and limited sound, Harlock was actually fairly easy to get into. It felt like a series with a much bigger budget than a lot of anime at the time, and feels much more visually and auditorily polished. It's got a damn good story to it, too.

@Pinkkitty

Maybe and yes. There will probably be a second season, but it might be a while since the manga is still ongoing, and it's a monthly manga. It doesn't help that they rushed through a lot of material at the beginning...

I refuse to look up anything about Samurai Flamenco so my image of an anime about flamenco dancers, traditional outfit and all, fighting with swords won't be ruined.

you're doing great by avoiding SF then, the word Flamenco got a whole new meaning in the latest episode....

I just finished watching episode 16 of Samurai Flamenco.

Because of that episode, the show has shot back up to the top of my "Must Watch" list. Yes, the middle arc can feel slow and uneventful, but it is so worth sitting through just to see episode 16.

Alrighty, about to start Kids on the Slope.
Whoa, the art style.
THIS IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED!

I liked the art style! The entire anime has such an old-school philosophy which was totally refreshing. I like it for the same reasons that I liked BECK, in that they preferred a more subdued and realistic approach.

I really like it too! I was pleasantly surprised by it, I thought it'd be more chibi lol. Very glad it wasn't. I'm 4 episodes in now, about to start 5 right now, and I'm loving the show. I really like the characters and the jazz theme. The music and animation during their performances is amazing.

Toonami Saturday night!

Space Dandy - Missed it.

Bleach - Missed it.

Naruto Shippuden - Missed it.

One Piece - Missed it.

Soul Eater - WTH happened to this series since the last time I saw it!? It's always had it's quirks, but man, that super robot fight between Arachniphobia's lair & the mobilized Death City was just plain silly (like it came from a pure comedy series, rather than this one).

Sword Art Online - This is the one I missed the most these past few weeks, and I'm glad I at least got to see the final episode, even if I'm a bit out of the loop about what happened prior. Nice to see it had a happy ending.

Well, time to wait for InuYasha.

@Pinkkitty most people like it I dropped soon, didn't like the characters at all and the plot was boring to me....
but most people like it so you might as well give it a try.

So is Super Sonico just an ecchi anime? Because all I know about the character is that she has a bunch of sexy PVC figures.

It's an SoL comedy about the Mariest Mary Sue ever in a world where there are apparently 50 hours in a day (maybe not literally, but seriously, idolling is a pretty time consuming job, how the hell does she have time to do that, a part-time job as a waitress, do some club thing, and take care of 5 cats?!). For a slice of life, it just pushed too many boundries of realism for me...

Magikarp3

I started watching Non Non Biyori after someone told me something good happens in Episode 4. So far it's been pretty good! I find the main characters annoying, but that's because they're kids and I usually find kids annoying. The jokes are pretty funny though and the animators are good at using the :3 face to comedic effect.

ALSO THE SOUNDTRACK IS SO GOOD I CAN'T EVEN

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

Arminillo

Has anybody watched D-Frag? Slice of life high school comedy about a delinquent joining a game dev club. It's pretty funny, the humor is kinda like Gintama.
