well, i played the tutorial and saw some options, and im very pleased so far, the game includes a lot of voice clips (atleast for the tutorial) and you can see every item you have obtained in a gallery and i heard you can make levels (i havent gotten that far). i left a nephew playing quickplay, it seems if you make too many mistakes the room gets darker and darker until you pass out o.o the game is easy to learn to play and looks quite good of a dsiware too. im pleased so far, only time will tell how much this game lasts, i heard there are 50 levels, lets see if thats true! the music is quite good too and the voice clips are clear. something really odd is that the fanfare when you finish a level does not end if you select to play a new level.
edit: oh yeah, about the hot & cold in the game, your character seems to have some strange ability of knowing where items are, you can use your "hot and cold sensor" for a limited amount of time, then you must search on your own until it is ready again, also "jobs", or atleast the quickplay is not only a single room, is a house of many rooms, and each room has its items to look for.
phew! Glad to hear it's turning out good so far. Really looking forward to more thoughts. So how could controls be better? Anyone try multiplayer?
It moves like Dementium, Moon or Metroid Hunters, but it's not as responsive. You can make it faster, but I guess I wish there was a 180 spin move or something. Also sometimes when you're trying to move you'll grab items instead. Minor gripes really, but it can get annoying.
Also there's a timer, but you can turn it off when you set it to easy mode.
So, is it controlled using the touch-screen or D-Pad?
both...
i have beated lvl 20 and still no level creator also, i found a minor bug, when you switch to book mode, the image behind a window will still move as if you where using the normal mode, so if you look up, the image in the window will move up, this way you can see the part of the image where the sky ends and the floor begins again, haha.
oh, and the plot of the game is getting deep, it seems a kind of evil imp is behind the lost items.
this game is havy in content though, it could have easily been a 1000 points game.
Thanks for the impressions, abgar and Hardy83. I just might download this. Off topic: Hardy, do you have Crystal Bearers yet?
No I put it on my Christmas list, so if I don't get it then, I'm getting it after, but it will be in my hands before the end of the year. And I gurantee you I will personally consider it a 9/10. I LOVE exploration games.
On topic, I'm at level 27 and the editor hasn't been unlock yet. I have no idea how many levels there are, and it's a bit silly to have the editor mode locked for this long because it just starts to get tedius doing all the same levels over and over just to unlock the stupid thing.
@Hardy83 I ordered it tonight and expect it to arrive on the 28th. The game looks fantastic, and I also enjoy exploration/open-world games. On topic: That's lame about the level editor.
many information sources state there are 50 levels.
the game has over 500 different items, there's even a wii mote and a ds included, i hope we don't need to beat the game to unlock the level editor D:
i havent tried multiplayer, but it has things like "hide and seek", "race" and "cooperation", it should be obvious what each mode do, it seems you can also do multiplayer in custom levels.
GAH! After doing 35 levels and going through some weird arse story, I unlocked the level creator.
It's pretty decent, you can set up a room and place your items. You can't move furniture in room sets, you're stuck with what they look like, but you can have up to 4 rooms and they can be a mix of any of the rooms in the game, so you can do 4 roofs if you want, or a street leading to a basement. lol
The item placement is a little more deep. You can move them around, then rotate, even scale the size of the item. You can also set where the rooms connect.
In the end, it's neat, and if you have someone to share the levels with you'll probably have some fun, otherwise what's the point if you personally know where everything is. Also I still think it was dumb to take it that long to unlock the level editor.
BUT it is nice that the whole thing had VO even though it was cheesy. Oh, lol there are bonus levels, but I don't know how many. The campaign ends at level 35, so maybe it goes up to 50, I dunno.
Thank you for all the information. I just started playing the other day and have not had to much time to really get into it. I look forward to more playing time after the holidays.
