This topic makes me want to repurchase Riviera. I wish I never sold it, and I hope they make a sequel for the 3ds. I think it might be too late for an outing on the DS

Yeah, we need more games like Riviera.

Glory of Heracles is a decent game, deserves somewhat better.

Only a Sith deals in absolutes!

i guess i repost this here since there isn't much activity in the completed games thread.
I played a game called "Izuna 2 The Unemployed Ninja Returns" It's kinda like the Pokemon Mystery dungeon games but when you die in this game you lose all your items(unless you store them in the storeroom) not your levels do those are safe.. I got the hang of it rather quickly do I beat the game and only died 4 times overall. The first death in the tutorial,The second in the first Boss,The third in a dungeon where i was outnumbered 7 enemies to 1 and the 4th the game frezed on me. It's a very underrated game. A lot of people find it very hard but if you have the right items in your inventory and grind a bunch its very easy. After the game theres 3 bonus super hard dungeons so the replayability is enormous. Im thinking of writing a game guide for this game since none exist online.

They said it was being made on a new system that didn't exist in 2006 so maybe it'll be on 3DS.

Non-binary, demiguy, making LPs, still alive

Oh? I thought that whole "being made on a new system that did not exist" was a reference to that "Time" game...

If it does turn out Contact's sequel is coming to 3DS, I'll be VERY pleased.

For me it would probably be Solatorobo, but it isn't relased yet either in Europe or in the States. A really charming game that has not really been mentionned anywhere else outside of Japan. It even broke a world record (most adverts in 8 hours !). I would really like to see it come out of darkness, as it is my Okami 2, in the sense that it is a really good game acclaimed by critics here in France (with an average mark of 15/20), that would totally bomb, if released, because there will probably be no advertising at all.

Yes, I've heard very good things about Solatorobo. Too bad no one's willing to pick it up for localisation. Maybe a fan translation will come out some day, if it gets popular enough.

I currently am trying to spam Namco Bandai and Rising Star Games, we should also see with Atlus (as they brought Tail Concerto in the US, though with reaaaally bad dubs, but still) or others. What we should also need is a petition of some sort.

No love for Golden Sun? Although the recent one on the DS was slightly disappointing, it's still a really good RPG that I'd recommend you check out if you're them. It's pretty likely they'll eventually release the original two GBA games on the 3DS Virtual Console too.

Well, guess I should pick up Tail Concerto if I can. In fact there are a number of PSX RPGs I missed out on which I'd like to pick up. Threads of Fate, Rhapsody and Wild Arms come to mind.

I also picked up Avalon Code for the DS recently and I don't recall it being mentioned here. Seems like a good action RPG if a little cliche in story. I'll let you guys know how it goes as I progress.

@Highwinter Well Golden Sun is far from underrated so it doesn't need a mention in a thread where we're trying to spread the news about lesser-known and lesser-appreciated RPGs. It's about as out of place here as mentioning Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger.

@ Mickeymac + HolyMackerel : Tail Concerto is a really enjoyable game, but if you want to do it, you should try to play either the French or Japanese versions (Japanese dubs) or try to play the american version while including the Japanese dubs, as it's one of those games that is ruined by bad voice acting (look extracts on Youtube, you'll see what I mean). Unfortunately, the French version didn't get the American upgrades, such as a controlable camera (which would have been really useful) and difficulty levels.

Fair enough, just can't say I've seen much discussion for it. I was under the impression it had sold badly.

After checking Youtube, I've heard worse VA, and I can't say it really ruins it. Then again I grew up with '90 VAs, so it'll take a lot to ruin it for me.

True. But for having played the French version first, and then compared, I was mildly surprised. Then again, French version, best version audio-wise (even though I heard there is supposed to be audio dialogue outside of animated cutscenes for dialogue, and we got silences, except when playing (hearing Waffulu BAKAAA !!! or MATTEEEEE !!!!("waiiit !!") over and over was quite pleasant when compared to the English audio), and said audio tracks are actually on the disc which was weird) and the American one is the best gameplay-wise.
I kinda wish someone would make the ultimate version of it with the american gameplay + full japanese audio, which would make it the ultimate version.

Suikoden Tierkreis: The voice acting was annoying but the gameplay is just awesome.
Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume: Great Turn based SRPG with multiple routes and endings and a great battle system.

PS. Is Black Sigil any good? Reviews arent great but love its retro classic look.
