I'm not talking about the DSi, but rather a true successor to the DS. Something that retains the main features of the DS, but adds useful features.
I'd like it to revive the Game Boy name. How about the Game Boy Ultra? It retains the dualscreens and clamshell design of the DS; along with the stylus, mic, and GBA compatibility. However, the GBU is fully compatible with Gameboy Classic and Gameboy Color games. Acquired from the DSi is the change-on-demand feature, where the GBU doesn't need to be turned off to change from the DS/GBU game to the GB/GBC/GBA game.
The GBU omits the cameras, apps, and internet capability from the DS, which lowers the price significantly ($125 as opposed to $170 for the DSi).

A few things I disagree with here. Why would it omit the Internet? Nintendo already said they won't be giving up Wiiware and Virtual Console, I doubt DSiware will be gone. Also, as much as I'd love it to play Gameboy games, that would seem like a step backwards. I'm pretty sure that Gameboy games are a thing of the past now, unless they make some sort of add-on. And it needs something to set it apart, too, there doesn't seem to be anything unique about what you've said.
I think it should be more compact, have three screens, and have phone capabilities as well as all of the DSi's capabilities. You'll be able to hold it like it was a Gameboy on the front with a small screen, and you can download GB/GBC/GBA games on it. Turn it horizontally and unfold its clamshell appearance to play it like a DS with its second and third screens. Then you'll have the DSiPhone!
Keep the clamshell and dual screens, except make both screens touch and make them both multi-touch.
Have a built in motion sensor
Along with the App store, also have a Virtual Handheld for GB, GBC, GBA, GameGear, and NeoGeo Pocket Color, Maybe even put DS games on there as well.
Backwards compatibility with DS
Keep the camera from the DSi
Have some kind of an analog
Larger screen resolution, maybe a slight bit wider too
Make the carts larger, the DS carts are very small and easy to lose.
Have it come with 2 sizes, a regular size, and an XL size.
Allow to "hide" apps via the settings and allow user to put a password on the settings section so little brother/sister doesn't go in and mess things up, if you forget your password, you can send it to Nintendo to remove it for you.
One touch screen like other DS's with multitouch and/or preferably pressure sensitivity, and have a D-pad like the Wiimote's and DS lites (the clicky one hurts my thumb )
call me Dicesuke Inuzuka, Daisuke, Dice, or Dai. deviant art page: http://dicesukeinuzuka.deviantart.com/
I'd like some form of sub-dermal implant that could override my visual cortex and immerse me in a 3D world where I could ignore other people and oncoming traffic.
I mentioned this earlier in the thread (I have a list earlier in the thread) but I have an idea of being allowed to "hide" apps via the settings and allow users to put a password on the settings section so your little brother/sister doesn't go in and mess things up, if you forget your password, you can send it to Nintendo to remove it for you.
